Javier Bardem<\/a> \u2013 Luna, 10, and 12-year-old Leo \u2013 and said it is not her place to talk about what their career ambitions may turn out to be.<\/p>\nShe told Elle magazine about her kids: \u201cIt\u2019s for them to decide if they are going to have a job that is more exposed to the public or not. They can talk about that when they\u2019re ready.\u201d<\/p>\n
The actress\u2019 Elle profile said her children do not have social media accounts, and also \u201cdon\u2019t even have phones\u201d according to Pen\u00e9lope.<\/p>\n
She added to the publication about her hatred of the devices being given to children: \u201cIt\u2019s so easy to be manipulated, especially if you have a brain that is still forming. And who pays the price?<\/p>\n
\n\u201cNot us, not our generation, who, maybe at 25, learned how a BlackBerry worked.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt\u2019s a cruel experiment on children, on teenagers.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nPen\u00e9lope added she thinks her husband is an amusing enough alternative to phones, saying: \u201cHe sings and he\u2019s a great dancer. And he does this amazing impression of Mick Jagger.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cHe\u2019ll imitate Al Pacino and De Niro talking to each other. It\u2019s incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nPen\u00e9lope also said her regular director collaborator Pedro Almod\u00f3var, 74, has always viewed her as a mother on screen.<\/p>\n
\nShe added: \u201cAt my age, 80 per cent of the characters that I play will be about motherhood or divorce or abandonment or characters who didn\u2019t want to have children or couldn\u2019t or who lost children.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019ve played mothers since I was very young. Pedro always saw me as a mother.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cWe have known each other since I was 17. He would watch me going to talk to strangers just to see their babies.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cHe always saw that strong, inevitable instinct in me, and I saw him see it.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe actress added \u201cever since I was a little girl I knew I wanted kids\u201d, and said: \u201cBut I knew I wanted them older. I wanted to wait until I felt I was ready.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI was sure it would be the most important thing I would do in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
