Dr. Terry Dubrow<\/strong> gave Ozempic a shot \u2014 but he missed out on \u201cthe joy of eating.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve tried it. I thought it was amazing. I \u2026 didn\u2019t have that much weight to lose<\/a>,\u201d Dubrow, 65, told Page Six<\/em><\/a>. \u201cBut I wanted to try it because so many of my patients were on it and I wanted to see what it was like when you\u2019re not diabetic and you only have 10-15 pounds to lose.\u201d<\/p>\n

While he still supports the medication, he didn\u2019t feel the side effects were worth the reward. In addition to \u201clow-grade nausea,\u201d the Botched<\/em> star lost interest in food. \u201cI thought, \u2018You know what, I kind of want to get my appetite back. The holidays are coming, I want to enjoy myself,\u2019\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

The plastic surgeon,\u00a0who is married to The Real Housewives of Orange County<\/em> star Heather Dubrow<\/strong>, noted that Ozempic \u201creally took \u2026 all the joy of eating away.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tOzempic has become a hot topic when it comes to weight loss \u2014 with some stars confirming they have used the drug while others denied it. Chelsea Handler admitted during a January 2023 episode of the \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d podcast that she unknowingly took the Type 2 diabetes medication, which is traditionally used to improve [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Dubrow added, \u201cYou go on vacation, maybe you don\u2019t exercise, you eat too much. It was kind of like, \u2018Well, I want to go on a food vacation,\u2019 meaning I want to be able to eat again.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to wanting to enjoy food at the holidays, Dubrow also needed to be off the semaglutide injections if he wanted a Christmas cocktail.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can\u2019t drink on it,\u201d he said. \u201cYou\u2019ve got to be really careful with alcohol because people are being put in the hospital with pancreatitis.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Ozempic isn\u2019t right for Dubrow, he still thinks it\u2019s a huge breakthrough that will help many people.<\/p>\n

In August, he exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> about the positive effects of the injections, which were designed to treat Type 2 diabetes.<\/p>\n
