Travis Kelce<\/strong><\/a> thinks his big brother, Jason Kelce<\/strong><\/a>, could keep playing football if that is his goal.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been cool to see everyone appreciate who he\u2019s been over the years this past week,\u201d Travis, 34, said in a Kansas City Chiefs press conference<\/a> on Friday, January 19. \u201cI think the big guy\u2019s still got some football left if he wants it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Travis noted that Jason\u2019s possible retirement had been a hot topic following his brother\u2019s emotional response to the Philadelphia Eagles\u2019 loss<\/a> to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, January 15, which knocked the Birds out of the playoffs. After the heartbreaking defeat, reports surfaced that Jason, 36, told his teammates<\/a> he was retiring but that wasn\u2019t the case.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt came out that he retired but he didn\u2019t really say any of that,\u201d Travis explained on Friday. \u201cThe end of that game I think everybody kind of felt for him knowing that he has been thinking about [retirement] a lot over the past couple of years. The documentary shows that, you don\u2019t need to go around and ask anybody.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJason Kelce has been a fixture of the Philadelphia Eagles offense for more than a decade, but he\u2019s been realistic about the idea of retirement. Kelce was drafted in 2011, becoming the first rookie in Eagles history to start all 16 regular season games at center. He helped lead the Eagles to their first-ever Super [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Jason, for his part, cleared the air<\/a> on the Wednesday, January 17, episode of his and Travis\u2019 \u201cNew Heights\u201d podcast about those retirement rumors.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t announce what I was doing on purpose \u2026 but people can kind of feel body language and stuff,\u201d Jason noted. \u201cI just don\u2019t think you\u2019re in the position after a game like that to really make that decision, I just don\u2019t. There\u2019s too much emotion in the moment, there\u2019s too much going down in the moment to really fully grasp that decision.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Eagles center explained that when he does decide to officially retire, he wants to do it on his own terms.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just something that I think when it\u2019s time to officially announce what\u2019s happening in the future, it\u2019ll be done in a way that\u2019s definitive and pays respect to a lot of people and individuals that have meant a lot to me and what has led to the career that I\u2019ve had,\u201d he explained. \u201cI don\u2019t think that it would be respectful or even accurate to be able to do that right after a game like that. \u2026 In the future, there\u2019ll be something said, I guess.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kelce, 36, reportedly told his teammates that he was retiring after the Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on January 15, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter. After the loss, Jason seemed emotional on the sidelines as did his wife [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In addition to addressing his football future, Jason opened up about how \u201cfrustrating\u201d it was for the Eagles season to end in an emotional way.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love everybody in that building, all the teammates, all those coaches, so much. You put a lot of hard work in, you really do, and when it doesn\u2019t pan out \u2026 it\u2019s a heck of a collapse,\u201d Jason shared. \u201cStarted out 10-1 and finished losing six of our last seven games. \u2026 Rough way to finish her out this year.\u201d<\/p>\n
