Get ready Law & Order: SVU<\/em><\/a> fans because there might just be a love interest in Detective Joe Velasco\u2019s future \u2014 at least according to actor Octavio Pisano<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Pisano, 37, teased to Us Weekly<\/em> exclusively that there\u2019s \u201ca lot more action\u201d for his character as the show\u2019s milestone season 25 continues. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot more conflicts, some relationships,\u201d he said at the SVU<\/em> 25th anniversary celebration<\/a> earlier this month.<\/p>\n

When asked about a potential love interest, the NBC star played coy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would say romantic. I would say platonic,\u201d he teased. (Pisano has been playing the role of Detective Velasco since 2021.)<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tLaw & Order: Special Victims Unit has been going strong since 1999, but not all of its major characters have stayed throughout its long run. In fact, the only remaining original cast member from the show\u2019s first season is Mariska Hargitay, whose character started as detective Olivia Benson and has since become the captain of [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Throughout season 24, Velasco\u2019s relationship with Captain Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay<\/strong>) had some ups and downs when he attempted to protect a childhood friend who had committed a murder in their youth.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think by the end of last season, Velasco committed fully to the squad and that solidified their relationship. It\u2019s only growing,\u201d he said of his character and Captain Benson. \u201cEvery episode I\u2019ve done, the relationship, and the characters are growing. Her and I, as actors we\u2019re growing as friends<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pisano said that, overall, fans can expect the 25th season<\/a> to be \u201cgreat.\u201d<\/p>\n

Detective Velasco isn\u2019t the only SVU character with some major life changes this season. ADA Sonny Carisi (Peter Scanavino<\/strong>) is gearing up for dad life with Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the beginning, there\u2019s not too much dad Carisi<\/a>, but I think there\u2019s definitely going to be some, as we hit the midpoint in the season,\u201d Scanavino, 43, told Us<\/em>. \u201cI think that\u2019s going to be the greatest thing ever. I think he always would\u2019ve been a great dad. I\u2019m so glad that now he gets to do that. It\u2019s so heartwarming to me because you have such an affection for your character. I\u2019m so glad this has happened to him.\u201d<\/p>\n

The TV giant has since helmed multiple Law & Order spinoffs, including the long-running series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

When Scanavino first appeared on the show, he was a guest star playing Johnny Dubcek for one episode in season 14. Two years later he nabbed the role of former detective and current ADA Carisi.<\/p>\n

Looking back at his tenure on the show, Scanavino owes it all to the fans who have developed a major affinity for his character.<\/p>\n
