It\u2019s one of the long list of things only paid users can do on X. However, X removed <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2024\/01\/09\/x-promises-peer-to-peer-payments-ai-advances-in-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the ability for premium users to set an NFT as a profile picture earlier in the month<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Users can enable or disable calling through <em>Settingle &gt; Privacy and safety &gt; Direct Messages &gt; Enable audio and video calling<\/em>. The same menu gives people the ability to control who can call them: people in their address book, people they follow, and verified users. They can select multiple options from these selections.<\/p>\n<p>X is pretty much still ambitious about becoming an \u201ceverything app.\u201d Earlier this month, the company <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2024\/01\/09\/x-promises-peer-to-peer-payments-ai-advances-in-2024\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">published its vision for 2024<\/a> including launching peer-to-peer payment, new xAI-powered features such as \u201cshow dissimilar posts,\u201d and more ad products for marketers.<\/p>\n<p>Reports suggested that advertisers are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/bd56a91a-9c99-4184-b230-9b7c3de19f79\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">leaving X and opting to spend money on platforms like <\/a>LinkedIn after\u00a0Musk told <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2023\/11\/29\/elon-musk-says-go-fuck-yourself-to-advertisers-leaving-x\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">them \u201cGo f*ck yourself\u201d at an event in November 2023<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\n<br \/><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2024\/01\/19\/x-is-rolling-out-audio-and-video-calls-to-android\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Elon Musk\u2019s own social network X is rolling out the ability to make audio and video calls directly from the app to its Android client.
