Kate Beckinsale<\/a> has slammed “horribly cold” BAFTA for refusing to confirm if her late stepfather will feature in their In Memoriam tribute.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The 50-year-old actress revealed earlier this month that Roy Battersby – who was behind the shows ‘Between The Lines’, ‘Inspector Morse’, ‘Cracker’ and ‘A Touch of Frost’- had passed away and she was left “sickened” after she received an email from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts organisation, which informed her they “could not guarantee” the director would be honoured for his extensive body of work during their annual awards ceremonies.<\/p>\n
Sharing a throwback photo from 1996 her herself, Roy and her mother Judy Loe, she wrote on Instagram: “Here is a photo just after I presented my stepdad with the lifetime achievement Alan Parker Special Award BAFTA for his incredible work as a director in television…<\/p>\n
“Today BAFTA told me they \u2018could not guarantee\u2019 he would be included in their \u201cin memoriam\u201d tribute , to honour the industry members we have lost . So a man dead less than a week somehow has to audition in front of a committee after a decades long career (in which he has been awarded from said organisation the highest accolade they have ) to decide IF his death is worth mentioning . If his work, his life ,his craft ,his mentoring , his heart and soul are worthy of a mention that he is gone .<\/p>\n
” That , that has broken my heart all over again . I am paralysed ,sick and sickened and I will honour him and his work every day of my life . <\/p>\n
\n“***Oh and while I am at it, yes it is my mum briefly in the Netflix show Fool me Once, for those who asked . And she has been gracefully and quietly dealing with stage four cancer for the last six years and just lost her husband so thanks again , BAFTA for your horribly cold email.(sic)”<\/p>\n
\nThe ‘Underworld’ actress went on to share the email on her Instagram Story.<\/p>\n
\nIt read: “All names we gather during the course of the year are brought before the BAFTA Obituaries Committee which meets to compile the Awards In Memoriam segment – Film, Television or Television Craft – but we are never able to make any guarantee of inclusion.<\/p>\n
\n“Roy’s BAFTA win falls within Television and as these Awards take place in May, the In Memoriam will be discussed in spring.<\/p>\n
\n“All good wishes.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
