The model, actress and author, 32, whose book \u2018My Body\u2019 debated feminist topics, added she is at a point in her life where she now cares \u201ca whole lot less what people think\u201d.<\/p>\n
She added in an interview with Glamour UK magazine: \u201cSo, if I am in a certain type of mood where I want to post something or wear something that I could be judged for because it\u2019s, quote-unquote \u2018desperate,\u2019 I\u2019m a little bit like, \u2018Well, that\u2019s where I\u2019m at\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
Emily added she has learned to put \u201cown happiness\u201d first as she\u2019s gotten older, and has \u201cbigger fish to fry than caring about the politics of whether or not I\u2019m appealing to the male gaze in a given moment\u201d.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cI guess where I am is a little bit of a true liberation, in a personal sense, in the way that I just don\u2019t really (care.)\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBut the \u2018Gone Girl\u2019 actress did admit she is secretly self-conscious, confessing she\u2019s \u201cso afraid of people not taking her seriously\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nShe also said even though she wants women and girls to \u201cstop torturing\u201d themselves she is still afflicted by self doubt.<\/p>\n
\nThe model said about her inner criticism: \u201cI still kind of do (criticise and doubt myself), about everything; about the days that I don\u2019t look great or I\u2019m not dressed sexy or when I am dressed sexy, and it\u2019s just constant.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nEarlier this week, she took to Instagram to post an image of herself in a low-cut black dress and referenced how people saw her as a \u201cbimbo\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nShe captioned the picture: \u201cDecided I\u2019m never beating the bimbo allegations so why not lean in, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
