Ronstadt and her bandmates, <strong>Bobby Kimmel<\/strong> and <strong>Kenny Edwards<\/strong>, recorded three albums together before she went solo.<\/p>\n<p>Ronstadt became a pop icon in the 1970s, reigning over the radio and dethroning rock heavyweights like <strong>Elton John<\/strong> and <strong>Led Zeppelin<\/strong> on the charts. Her 1974 album, <em>Heart Like a Wheel<\/em>, became her first No. 1 album in the United States, and in 2013, the Library of Congress inducted it into the National Recording Registry.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the 1980s, Ronstadt expanded into other genres, recording a country album with <strong>Dolly Parton<\/strong> and <strong>Emmylou Harris<\/strong> and releasing her first collection of traditional Mexican mariachi music. She continued recording throughout the 1990s but released her last solo album in 2004. Seven years later, she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-news\/news\/linda-ronstadt-has-parkinsons-disease-can-no-longer-sing-2013248\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">retired from performing<\/a> after developing progressive supranuclear palsy.<\/p>\n<div id=\"news-block\">\n<div class=\"newsletter-form \">\n<div class=\"newsletter-signup__success\">\n<h3>Thank You!<\/h3>\n<p>You have successfully subscribed.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Despite the fact that she can no longer sing, Ronstadt still feels grateful to have spent so many years in music. \u201cI just feel whatever I\u2019ve got now is gravy.
