Sophie Turner wants to drop the child abduction claims she made against her estranged husband Joe Jonas<\/p>\n
The 27-year-old \u2018Game of Thrones\u2019 actress filed a lawsuit against her singer ex, 34, in September and requested to secure \u201cthe immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained\u201d, according to court documents. <\/p>\n
Three months after the former reached an amicable custody agreement over their kids, Page Six has reported attorneys for the former couple have asked a judge in their federal case in New York to dismiss Sophie\u2019s previous filing \u2013 in which she claimed the Jonas Brothers singer abducted daughters, Willa, three, and 18-month-old Delphine amid their divorce. <\/p>\n
Even though the judge hasn\u2019t yet signed off on the request, the fact that both parties are in agreement on the matter means it is highly likely to be approved. <\/p>\n
Sophie had claimed in her September filing Joe started the \u201cwrongful retention\u201d of their kids on the 20th of that month. <\/p>\n
\nShe added they agreed during Christmas 2022 they would make Britain their \u201cforever home\u201d and start looking for schools for their oldest daughter. <\/p>\n
\nJoe then claimed British-born Sophie withheld their daughters\u2019 passports so they couldn\u2019t leave America, but he denied he ever \u201cabducted\u201d their girls. <\/p>\n
\nJoe\u2019s representative said at the time: \u201cLess than 24 hours later, Sophie advised that she wanted to take the children permanently to the UK. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cThereafter, she demanded via this filing that Joe hand over the children\u2019s passports so that she could take them out of the country immediately. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cThis is an unfortunate legal disagreement about a marriage that is sadly ending. \u201cWhen language like \u2018abduction\u2019 is used, it is misleading at best, and a serious abuse of the legal system at worst.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nJoe filed for divorce from Sophie in September 2023 after four years of marriage and the pair have since been locked in a bitter custody battle over their two children. <\/p>\n
\nIn October, Sophie, who married Joe in May 2019, reached a temporary custody agreement for the kids that will last throughout January 2024. <\/p>\n
\nSophie has since moved on with British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson, 29, while Joe has been seen out and about with 33-year-old model Stormi Bree.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
