Ryan Reynolds<\/strong><\/a> and Hugh Jackman<\/strong><\/a> are ready to get the cameras rolling for Deadpool 3<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Reynolds posted a behind-the-scenes picture from the set taken by director Shawn Levy<\/strong> via his Instagram Story on Wednesday, January 17. The black and white pic features two chairs emblazoned with their respective characters\u2019 names: Logan, for Jackman\u2019s Wolverine, and Wade Wilson for Reynolds\u2019 Deadpool.<\/p>\n

The chairs, which sit side-by-side, are placed in front of what appears to be a jungle-like landscape.<\/p>\n

Jackman, 55, reshared Reynolds\u2019 post via his Instagram Story but did not add any commentary.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tDeadpool 3 will reunite Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman for the first time since 2009\u2019s Wolverine: Origins. Reynolds revealed in September 2022 that his real-life pal would join the movie via a comedic announcement video. \u201cHey Hugh, you want to play Wolverine one more time?\u201d Reynolds asked Jackman in the clip, to which he replied, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Levy, for his part, also reshared Reynolds\u2019 pic, writing, \u201cLuckiest director ever.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reynolds, 47, announced in September 2022 that Jackman would be reprising his role<\/a> for the third Deadpool<\/em> installment after hanging up his iconic claws in 2017.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been working hard on the next Deadpool film for a good long while now I\u2019ve had to really search my world on this one. His first appearance in the MCU obviously needs to feel special,\u201d Reynolds said in a video shared via X at the time. \u201cWe need to stay true to the character, find new depth, new motivation, new meaning. Every Deadpool [movie] needs to stand out and stand apart.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the clip, Reynolds explained that he and the creative team had one idea that would make the movie special before he was joined by a special guest.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut we did have one idea. Hey Hugh, you want to play Wolverine one more time?\u201d Reynolds asked as Jackman appeared and responded, \u201cYeah, sure, Ryan.\u201d<\/p>\n

Two months after revealing his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Jackman explained what originated the idea for his comeback.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had a week\u2019s vacation from [Broadway\u2019s The Music Man<\/em>] and I was driving out, and it just came to me like that. I rang Ryan as soon as I arrived and he was floored,\u201d Jackman recalled during a December 2022 appearance on SiriusXM\u2019s The Jess Cagle Show<\/em>. \u201cInterestingly, he was just about to have a meeting with Kevin Feige<\/strong> at Marvel at 5 o\u2019clock that afternoon about the Deadpool<\/em> movie. And so he goes, \u2018This is really good timing, but are you really sure? Cause I don\u2019t wanna say anything.\u2019 I said, \u2018I\u2019m a hundred percent sure.\u2019 And I dunno why, because I was a hundred percent sure I was out before. And then all of a sudden I was a hundred percent in.\u201d<\/p>\n

Filming for Deadpool 3<\/em> began in February 2023. However, due to the SAG-AFTRA strike<\/a>, production was shut down in July 2023. After the strike ended, Variety<\/em><\/a> reported that the movie would resume filming in November 2023.<\/p>\n

While the movie was originally set to premiere in May 2024, the effects of the strike pushed back its release date to July 26, 2024. Reynolds confirmed that the new film would be a summer release.<\/p>\n
