Nicole Kidman<\/strong> <\/a>is opening up about the insecurities she faces with her height.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was teased. I was called \u2018Stalky.\u2019 They\u2019d always be like, \u2018How\u2019s the air up there?\u2019\u201d Kidman, 56, recalled on the \u201cRadio Times\u201d podcast<\/a> on Tuesday, January 16. \u201c\u2018You\u2019re so much taller than I thought,\u2019 is what I get. And then sort of grappling with how high my heels should be. Whenever you go on the red carpet, they send the shoes and the shoes are always so high. And I\u2019m like, \u2018Do they have a kitten heel? No.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cI\u2019m just, like, going to be the tallest person, the giraffe.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kidman, who admitted that she will say she\u2019s 5 ft 10 \u00bd in when she\u2019s really 5 ft 11 in, shared that her height will \u201cbother\u201d her when she\u2019s acting and wants \u201cto be small.\u201d But she also simultaneously can have times when she can \u201cappreciate\u201d her height and \u201cuse this\u201d in her work when it\u2019s \u201crelated\u201d to what she\u2019s doing.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey, I\u2019m incredibly grateful to be healthy and walking around. I mean with that said, I\u2019ve had knee issues and all sorts of things, partly because of my height,\u201d Kidman explained.<\/p>\n

As for whether the Bombshell<\/em> actress had been told that her height would impact her success within the industry, she replied, \u201cYes. I was told, \u2018You won\u2019t have a career. You\u2019re too tall.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

She recalled auditioning for the musical Annie<\/em> when she was younger. She had to be measured before she was allowed in the room and was \u201cmortified\u201d because she was 5 ft 4 in at the time, which was two inches above the 5 ft 2 in cut off.<\/p>\n

While they let her audition, the Big Little Lies<\/em> <\/a>star said, \u201cI didn\u2019t get in. I didn\u2019t even get a call back \u2014 but at least I got to sing four lines of a chorus.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tPrime Video Nicole Kidman is bringing another compelling drama to television with her upcoming series, Expats. The show is based on Janice Y.K. Lee\u2019s 2016 novel The Expatriates, which follows three women in Hong Kong throughout different stages of their lives. Kidman found her way to the book through her sister, then immediately got the [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kidman said that she will tell her daughters that \u201cnone of it matters.\u201d She shares daughters<\/a> Sunday Rose, 15, and Faith, 13, with husband Keith Urban<\/strong>, as well as daughter Isabella, 31, with ex Tom Cruise<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
