Jeremy Allen White<\/strong> <\/a>took home the 2023 Emmy Award<\/a> for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series on Monday, January 15, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles \u2014 and made the moment about his family<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so proud. I\u2019m so full of gratitude to be standing in front of you all. I love the show so much. It filled me up. It gave me a passion, it set a fire in me to match the beautiful work done by [creators] Christopher Storer and Joanna Calo,\u201d White, 32, shared during his speech. \u201cThe beautiful cast and beautiful crew I get to share a space and stage with. My parents. I love you, thank you for your support.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Bear<\/em> actor then seemingly addressed his divorce<\/a> from Addison Timlin<\/strong> last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you to all those who have stayed close to me, especially in this past year, you know who you are,\u201d he added. \u201cThank you for believing in me when I had trouble believing in myself. I love you. And Ezer and Dolores, I love you so much. This is for you.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAfter much anticipation and a postponement, the 2023 Emmy Awards are almost underway at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles on Monday, January 15. The Television Academy announced in August 2023 that the 75th annual ceremony was pushed to January 2024 amid actors, writers and other entertainment workers going on strike. Both the Writers Guild [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Allen was nominated alongside\u00a0Bill Hader<\/strong> for Barry<\/em>, Jason Segel<\/strong> for Shrinking<\/em>, Martin Short<\/strong> for Only Murders in the Building <\/em>and\u00a0Jason Sudeikis<\/strong> for Ted Lasso.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

White \u2014 who received his first Emmy nomination for his lead role of Carmen \u201cCarmy\u201d Berzatto in The Bear<\/em> \u2014 bested nearly the same group of nominees at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards earlier this month, taking home the Best Actor in a Television Series \u2014 Musical or Comedy trophy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love this show,\u201d White, 32, shared on stage while accepting his award. \u201cI love you guys so much. I must have done something right in this life to be in your company.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sudeikis, 48, has had a hot streak at the Emmys, winning in multiple categories at the 2021 and 2022 ceremonies for his work on Ted Lasso<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you,\u201d Sudeikis gushed on stage<\/a> while accepting the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series award in 2022. \u201cI mean, I have sat at home and watched awards shows \u2014 my mom loves awards shows \u2014 and I always bust people\u2019s balls when they get up here and say, \u2018I didn\u2019t think I had a chance [to win].\u2019 And I really didn\u2019t because, like, [it was] an amazing, amazing group that I was nominated with. So I\u2019m not overly prepared.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTV\u2019s biggest night has been hosted by many\u00a0notable\u00a0Hollywood\u00a0names\u00a0over the years. Stephen Colbert is a 45-time Emmy nominee and a 10-time winner, but he also has experience hosting the event. He was tapped to host the 69th annual ceremony in 2017. The Colbert Report alum opened the show with a big musical number. He recruited stars [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He continued: \u201cThank you to my incredible \u2014 our incredible \u2014 cast, it\u2019s a joy to get to work with you guys. \u2026 And thank you so much to the people that watch this show and dig it as much as we dig making it. I\u2019m truly, truly surprised and flattered.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both Hader, 45, and Short, 73, were up for the award in 2022. Short was nominated for playing Oliver Putnam on Hulu\u2019s Only Murders in the Building<\/em>. Before being defeated by Sudeikis, Short took home the Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Variety or Music Program for his work on SCTV (Second City Television) in 1983 and Outstanding Variety Special for AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute to Mel Brooks in 2014<\/em>. He has received 16 nominations through the years.<\/p>\n
