Television\u2019s biggest night is coming twice this year. The 2024 Emmys, i.e., the ceremony that was postponed<\/a> from an original September airdate amid the dual writers and actors strikes<\/a> in 2023, has finally arrived a full six months after Emmy nominations<\/a> were first announced. (Expect another round of the Emmys this fall, where TV like The Crown<\/em>\u2019s final season<\/a> and Fargo<\/em> season five<\/a> is eligible.)<\/p>\n Fox, which is airing the 75th annual ceremony live on Monday, January 15, is hoping its telecast will be worth the wait. Anthony Anderson,<\/strong> who was Emmy-nominated for lead comedy actor during seven consecutive seasons of ABC\u2019s sitcom Black-ish,<\/em> is set to serve as first-time host following a dismal debut<\/a> from comedian Jo Koy<\/strong><\/a> at last week\u2019s Golden Globes<\/a>.<\/p>\n The shows nominated at Emmys 2024<\/a> have been in the pop-cultural zeitgeist since the eligibility window for this ceremony began back in June 2022. That means season one<\/em> of FX\u2019s The Bear<\/em> (its second season just swept the Globes\u2019 comedy categories<\/a>) will compete against the final seasons of HBO\u2019s Succession<\/em><\/a>,<\/em> Barry,<\/em> and the potentially, sort-of<\/a> final season of the Apple TV+ comedy Ted Lasso.<\/em> Netflix\u2019s Beef,<\/em><\/a> which similarly scored big at the Globes, is projected to dominate the limited-series categories. And while nominations brought plenty of snubs and surprises<\/a>, from the dismissal of Yellowstone<\/em> to embrace of Jury Duty,<\/em> expect field-leading The Last of Us<\/em> (24 nominations) and season two of The White Lotus<\/em> (23 nods) to head home with some shiny new hardware.<\/p>\n Here\u2019s how to watch the 2024 Emmys live, and find out if VF<\/em>\u2019s predictions for winners in every category<\/a> aligned with Monday\u2019s awards.<\/p>\n The 2024 Emmys will take place on Monday, January 15, at the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles. Each of the major networks gets a turn with TV\u2019s preeminent awards show, and this year Fox will air the show live and on Fox.com for those with a cable login. The ceremony kicks off at 5 p.m. PT\/8 p.m. ET on Fox, and will stream on-demand via Hulu the next day.<\/p>\n Before the broadcast, E! will host Live From E!: Countdown to the Emmys<\/em> starting at 2 p.m. PT\/5 p.m. ET, followed by red-carpet coverage at 3 p.m. PT\/6 p.m. ET. That\u2019s also your place for after-party coverage, beginning immediately after the Emmys at 8 p.m. PT\/11 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n And if\u2014like Schitt\u2019s Creek\u2019s<\/em> Moira Rose<\/a>\u2014awards is your favorite season, get an extra early start by watching this year\u2019s already completed Creative Arts Emmys<\/a>, which commenced on January 6 with early wins for The Last of Us, The Bear,<\/em> Netflix\u2019s Addams Family spin-off, Wednesday,<\/em> and The White Lotus.<\/em> That ceremony is available to stream on Hulu.<\/p>\n If you\u2019ve ditched cable in the New Year, the 2024 Emmys can be streamed live on YouTube TV<\/a>, Hulu + Live TV<\/a>, FuboTV<\/a>, DirecTV Stream<\/a>, or Sling<\/a>. While some of those services offer free trials, if you\u2019ve exhausted all complimentary options, streaming with Hulu (which requires a subscription, of course) on Tuesday, January 16, is your best bet. Originally scheduled for September\u2014when the Emmys are typically held\u2014the awards were delayed<\/a> after the WGA strike began<\/a> in early May and actors joined picket lines<\/a> in mid-July. While the Tony Awards devised a way for the show to go on without writers<\/a> after reaching an exclusive deal with the WGA, the Emmys broadcast is far more reliant on writers, who are honored in several categories, as well as the presence of actors whom viewers tune in to watch. Although the ceremony was postponed, voting proceeded as usual from August 17 to 28, meaning some shows were far fresher in the mind for Television Academy members back then than they may have been in recent weeks.<\/p>\n Despite the slightly wonky idea of honoring shows that aired in 2023 and even 2022 at the so-called 2024 Emmys, telecast producers are hoping to bring a timeless factor to the show. Casts from two of Fox\u2019s most beloved 1990s series\u2014Martin<\/em> and Ally McBeal<\/em>\u2014are reuniting for Monday\u2019s ceremony.
