After blacking out at BravoCon 2023<\/a>, Shep Rose<\/strong><\/a> was forced to confront his problems with alcohol.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m at a crossroads. I was out of control, drunk in Las Vegas. I scared the s\u2013t out of me,\u201d Shep, 44, told his castmates during part 1 of the Southern Charm<\/em><\/a> reunion, which aired on Thursday, January 11. \u201cI was blacked out. I can\u2019t even tell you what happened [at BravoCon].\u201d<\/p>\n

Host Andy Cohen<\/strong> recounted Austen Kroll<\/strong> \u201creally trying to take care\u201d of Shep during the November 2023 weekend<\/a>, to which Austen, 36, replied, \u201cThat\u2019s not the first time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shep acknowledged that he \u201cappreciates\u201d what Austen did to help and explained that he\u2019s since had a \u201ctalk\u201d with his \u201cclose friends\u201d back home about his issues.<\/p>\n

Craig Conover<\/strong> and Austen, who are both close with Shep, noted that they were invited and chose not to attend Shep\u2019s come to Jesus\u2019 discussion after dealing with all his ups and downs for years<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis road that you\u2019re on, ends with a cliff. I can\u2019t be in that car anymore. That\u2019s why I didn\u2019t go to that meeting,\u201d Craig, 34, confessed. \u201cAfter BravoCon, it\u2019s dark, but I was like, \u2018He\u2019s going to ruin his life and I have to be OK with that because we\u2019ve been here before.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Shep became a little defensive, telling both Craig and Austen that they \u201cdon\u2019t owe me anything,\u201d which prompted the reality stars to remind Shep they have his back.<\/p>\n

Shep Rose shared behind-the-scenes scoop about his life \u2014 and Southern Charm \u2014 in his new book, Average Expectations: Lessons in Lowering the Bar. \u201cI just sat down and did it. I enjoyed it. I had fun,\u201d the 41-year-old Bravo star exclusively told Us Weekly about writing the book, which [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Shep noted that after BravoCon he realized, \u201cI didn\u2019t have anything. I thought, \u2018Who am I? How am I of any value to anybody? You\u2019re hurting yourself bro.\u201d He explained that after \u201cgoing hard\u201d for decades on the party scene he feels like, \u201cMy body and my mind are telling me, \u2018No, no no sir.\u2019 I can\u2019t do it anymore the way that I used to.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shep confessed that he hasn\u2019t completely stopped drinking. \u201cI just don\u2019t drink liquor. I don\u2019t drink shots. I just drink beer,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Craig revealed he was in the same place a few years back, sharing, \u201cI haven\u2019t drank liquor in two years but I had to make a massive change this summer. I\u2019m an addict to that stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Sewing Down South founder admitted that watching Shep get drunk over and over \u201cwas sad.\u201d Craig noted that he was \u201csorry\u201d for being hard on Shep and that he does love him. Shep once again acknowledged that he heard Craig, adding, \u201cI\u2019m going to follow your lead.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shep\u2019s ex-girlfriend Taylor Ann Green<\/strong> also weighed in on his progress, saying, \u201cIt makes me happy to hear all of this. I know the real Shep. He\u2019s an incredible, kind, smart human being.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSouthern Charm fans thought Shep Rose might\u2019ve found The One with Taylor Ann Green after introducing her to viewers on season 7 \u2014 but their relationship didn\u2019t last. \u201cWe had just started dating and it was basically a honeymoon season,\u201d Rose exclusively told Us Weekly in June 2022 ahead of season 8, which was Green\u2019s [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Elsewhere in the episode, Shep revealed that his infidelity<\/a> and drinking factored into his and Taylor\u2019s July 2022 split<\/a>. However, he said he thinks the TV cameras made it much worse.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019d probably be married,\u201d Shep claimed when asked whether the show ruined their romance. \u201cBecause I wouldn\u2019t be as distracted. I would be a different person. I would be like, \u2018I met someone I really care about and this is it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
