The Chicago Fire<\/strong><\/a><\/em> showrunner is dishing on the hit NBC show\u2019s upcoming 12th season!<\/p>\n Most notably, showrunner and executive producer Andrea Newman<\/strong> commented on the return of Taylor Kinney<\/strong><\/a> and his character Kelly Severide, as well as the upcoming exit of longtime star Kara Killmer<\/strong><\/a>, who plays Sylvie Brett.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n If you recall, Taylor <\/strong>took a leave of absence<\/a> in season 11, and Kara<\/strong> will be leaving the show after season 12.<\/p>\n In a new interview, the showrunner revealed how often each of the above stars will be appearing in the new, shortened season.<\/p>\n \u201cHaving Taylor<\/strong> back was a thrill for everybody, and he was as jazzed as can be. The energy levels were through the roof,\u201d Andrea <\/strong>shared of Taylor<\/strong>\u2018s return. <\/p>\n When asked if Taylor<\/strong> will be back full-time this season, she commented, \u201cHe\u2019s back, is what I\u2019ll say. It\u2019s a shortened season, but he\u2019s back and Severide\u2019s centerstage in this season.\u201d<\/p>\n Teasing Severide\u2019s relationship with Stella Kidd after his return, Andrea<\/strong> noted, \u201cThere\u2019s a whole new dynamic between them. The heat and the sexual tension are as high as ever. They can\u2019t keep their hands off each other, as usual, and yet, there\u2019s this new dynamic that is present between them, something we haven\u2019t seen before.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s an edge in the air between them but the main case OFI case, which is the big case that Severide\u2019s been dealing with, is going to bring up a lot of tension between them and explore what\u2019s been happening these last six months and what they\u2019ve been going through.\u201d<\/p>\n As for Kara<\/strong>, Andrea<\/strong> did not specify just how many episodes she will be in, but she will be in most of the season!<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ll say that we have a shortened season and she\u2019s in a chunk of this season. She\u2019s got a journey of her own to take before we let her go,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
