Paul \u201cPK\u201d Kemsley<\/strong><\/a> responded to the \u201cseverity\u201d of his wife Dorit Kemsley<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s claims about surviving an October 2021 home invasion<\/a>, dismissing her experience with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).<\/p>\n \u201cThere are elements I understand. There are also elements that I don\u2019t consider are PTSD \u2014 I don\u2019t. I consider them more obnoxious,\u201d PK, 56, told Dorit during the Wednesday, December 10, episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n Speaking to Dorit\u2019s therapist about the invasion \u2014 during which robbers threatened to kill her, according to the Bravo<\/a> star \u2014 PK continued, \u201cThe reality is, when does high maintenance blend with PTSD?\u201d<\/p>\n During a confessional, PK said Dorit, 47, was no longer the \u201cbubbly, enthusiastic, beautiful girl\u201d she was when they met. In her own interview, Dorit said her husband could be \u201charsh\u201d and \u201ca little mean\u201d to her at times.<\/p>\n Later in the couple\u2019s therapy session, Dorit told PK she felt like a \u201ctotally new person\u201d in the wake of the break-in, and that she \u201ccan\u2019t do anything about\u201d her trauma response. \u201cDo you have any idea how difficult that is, and what it\u2019s like to live with that?\u201d she asked her husband.<\/p>\n \u201cIn a marriage, these are the times that truly test your relationship,\u201d Dorit said during her confessional, saying PK is \u201ccoming up really short\u201d when it comes to supporting her during her \u201cepisodes\u201d of anxiety.<\/p>\n After asking Dorit to explain her PTSD in a way that is \u201ca little bit calmer and a little bit less irritated,\u201d PK added that he is not \u201cseeking to irritate\u201d Dorit, but to \u201cunderstand\u201d her. \u201cIt makes me emotional, because you know I\u2019m OK with it,\u201d he told her. \u201cIt\u2019s very difficult when you love someone, to listen to how much pain you\u2019re in.\u201d<\/p>\n On October 25, 2023, In Touch<\/em> exclusively broke the news<\/a> that Dorit and PK were \u201cliving separate lives\u201d after eight years of marriage. However, the couple denied having split<\/a> one day later, saying in a joint message that while they have had some \u201cchallenging years,\u201d they \u201cremain committed to working through these issues as a united couple for our family.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe have not separated nor are we planning to do so,\u201d their October 26, 2023 statement obtained by In Touch<\/em> read. \u201cRather, we are focused on healing, making changes and doing the things that many couples have to do at some point in their marriage. We would be grateful for everyone\u2019s understanding.\u201d<\/p>\n Dorit and PK concluded their statement with, \u201cWe are doing what we can to focus on the best interests of our family, as opposed to spending our time contending with rumors and hearsay that are not true.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
