25 years after starring in the film, The Wedding Singer,<\/em> still makes Drew Barrymore<\/strong><\/a> cry.<\/p>\n

The talk show host,<\/a> 48, watched her and costar Adam Sandler<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s 1998 romantic comedy again on Wednesday, January 10, and posted an Instagram video <\/a>of tearing running down her face.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Wedding Singer<\/em> came on my TV as I was getting ready to leave the house and I had to take in this moment and watch it,\u201d Barrymore wrote in her caption, before addressing Sandler directly.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe made such a good movie,\u201d she continued. \u201cI love you so much [Adam Sandler]. Happy New Year.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the film, Sandler portrays Robbie Hart, a wedding singer living in New Jersey in 1985. As his wedding to his fianc\u00e9e Linda (Angela Featherstone<\/strong>) is approaching, he meets Julia Sullivan (Barrymore), a new waitress at the reception hall where he works and he promises to sing at her wedding.<\/p>\n

When Linda calls off the engagement, Robbie decides to quit performing at weddings and reneges on his promise to sing at Julia\u2019s ceremony. Despite Robbie disappointing her, Julia convinces him to help her with the planning and their friendship develops. As the two grow closer, Julia and Robbie both must decide where their hearts really lie.<\/p>\n

The Wedding Singer<\/em> wasn\u2019t the only movie Barrymore and Sander teamed up on. They reunited in 2004 for 50 First Dates<\/em> and again for Blended<\/em> in 2014.<\/p>\n

In March 2023, Barrymore told People<\/em> <\/a>why she enjoys working with the comedian<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling had perfect onscreen chemistry in projects like Crazy, Stupid, Love, Gangster Squad and La La Land, which inspired a real friendship between the pair. \u201cI can\u2019t even imagine what my [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Barrymore added that Sandler was the reason she agreed to star in Blended.<\/em><\/p>\n
