Barry Keoghan is happy he\u2019s no longer considered a \u2018little freak child-man\u2019<\/p>\n
\nThe 31-year-old actor has hit the A-list after his turn as a scheming Oxford student in \u2018Saltburn\u2019, but admitted he was seen very differently earlier in his career, which has included roles as a creepy blackmailer in \u2018The Killing of a Sacred Deer\u2019 and a village simpleton in \u2018Banshees of Inisherin\u2019.<\/p>\n
\nHe told the new issue of GQ about his new-found status: \u201cIt\u2019s nice, man. It\u2019s nice not just being looked at as the weird-looking guy, the unique feckin\u2019 freaky little freak man-child, freak child-man, whatever you want to call it.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt\u2019s nice to see people kind of look at you in that way. I\u2019ll be honest. It is nice.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBarry also admitted about his looks: \u201cMy prettiness didn\u2019t get me this far.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nWhen told by the magazine he had mastered his \u201clittle freak\u201d era, Barry added: \u201cLittle freak child-man era, as we call it. And now I\u2019m just Man. Freak-Man. Man-Freak.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBarry also said about how he has been overwhelmed by his fame: \u201cIt\u2019s crazy when I think of it. I was saying to my friend last night \u2013 I was just looking out at the (Hollywood) sign and, y\u2019know, I wanted this as a kid.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHe also said about his ambitions: \u201cI dunno why I wanted it, but I wanted it. It brings back memories, in a weird way \u2013 it\u2019s hard to have memories of a place you\u2019ve not been in, but I watched all those old movies, and was fascinated by Old Hollywood. This was stuff I dreamed of, as a kid.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nBarry also used his GQ interview to confirm he had split from his long-term orthodontist girlfriend Alyson Kierans, with whom he had son Brando, after three years of dating.<\/p>\n
