\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Casting is reportedly getting underway to find the new DCU\u2019s Supergirl<\/strong><\/a>!<\/p>\n The role was previously portrayed by Melissa Benoist<\/strong><\/a> in The CW\u2019s Arrowverse<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, and most recently by Sasha Calle<\/strong><\/a> in The Flash<\/em> movie, which was part of the old DC Universe.<\/p>\n Part of the new DCU <\/a>will be a new Supergirl movie, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow<\/em>, bringing Tom King<\/strong>\u2018s comic run of \u201cSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrow\u201d in the way of a \u201cbig science-fiction epic film.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cNow, Superman is a guy who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents,\u201d DC Studios Co-CEO James Gunn<\/strong><\/a> previously shared of the film. \u201cWhereas Supergirl, in this story, she is a character who was raised on a chunk of Krypton. She watched everybody around her perish in some terrible way, so she\u2019s a much more jaded character.\u201d<\/p>\n It was just revealed that three young actresses are reportedly among those who will screen test for the role, which could go to a movie star via a straight offer.
