The R1, the pocket-size gadget from Rabbit that\u2019s supposed to use your apps for you, has already sold out of its first batch. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the startup Rabbit announced<\/a> that it sold 10,000 units in just one day. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cWhen we started building r1, we said internally that we\u2019d be happy if we sold 500 devices on launch day,\u201d Rabbit writes. \u201cIn 24 hours, we already beat that by 20x!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Rabbit introduced the R1 during CES on Tuesday, which comes with a small 2.88-inch touchscreen that runs on the company\u2019s own Rabbit OS. It uses a \u201cLarge Action Model\u201d that works as a \u201csort of universal controller for apps,\u201d according to my colleague David Pierce<\/a>, who got to try out the device during the showcase. This allows it to do things like play music, buy groceries, and send messages through a single interface without having to use your phone. It also lets you train the device how to interact with a certain app.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Although the first batch is sold out, you can still preorder the R1 device<\/a> from Rabbit\u2019s website. Rabbit says the expected delivery date is between April and May 2024. But if you managed to place an order before the first round of devices sold out, expect that to start shipping in March.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
