The renowned Mexican actor \u2013 who went from a singer in his homeland to a popular Hollywood star, whose roles included a part in \u2018Designated Survivor\u2019 \u2013 passed away following a private battle with appendiceal cancer.<\/p>\n
His death was revealed by Deadline on Tuesday (09.01.24), which also reported his last known role was in Fox\u2019s \u2018The Cleaning Lady\u2019 drama series.<\/p>\n
Married dad-of-two Adan\u2019s representatives at UTA, Entertainment360 and Viewpoint told the outlet: \u201cAdan had a depth of spirit that few truly knew. Those who glimpsed it were changed forever. <\/p>\n
\u201cHe will be greatly missed by so many.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nAdan\u2019s role saw him play the male lead on the show for the first two seasons. While his health did not allow him to film when production on the upcoming Season 3 started in December, after the end of the Hollywood actors\u2019 and writers\u2019 strikes, he was said to have been planning to rejoin the cast later in the season.<\/p>\n
\nIt’s understood the series will pay tribute to its star with a card in the Season 3 premiere.<\/p>\n
\nBorn in Ciudad Acu\u00f1a, Coahuila, Mexico in 1981 and raised in Texas, Adan left home at age 16 to pursue a career as a singer and guitarist in Mexico City.<\/p>\n
\nHe started with parts in local commercials and TV shows before being scouted for a major role in Kevin Williamson\u2019s 2013 Fox drama \u2018The Following\u2019.<\/p>\n
\nIn \u2018Designated Survivor\u2019 he played US vice president-elect Aaron Shore opposite Kiefer Sutherland, 57, for three seasons.<\/p>\n
\nHe also had a part on \u2018Narcos\u2019 as real-life politician Rodrigo Lara Bonilla.<\/p>\n
\nFor the past two years, Adan had been starring opposite \u00c9lodie Yung, 42, in \u2018The Cleaning Lady\u2019, playing gangster Arman Morales.<\/p>\n
\nHis movie roles included parts as Sunspot in \u2018X-Men: Days of Future Past\u2019 and a part in \u20182 Hearts\u2019, along with a role in Halle Berry\u2019s directorial debut \u2018Bruised\u2019.<\/p>\n
\nAdan was also making a name for himself as an up-and-coming filmmaker and directed his first short film in 2014 and his second in 2020.<\/p>\n
\nHe is survived by his wife Stephanie Ann Canto, and their two young children, Roman Alder, three, and 18-month-old Eve Josephine.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
