Jo Koy<\/strong> admittedly has regrets about the Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a> joke he made while hosting the Golden Globes<\/a> on Sunday, January 7.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Taylor [joke]<\/a> was just a little flat,\u201d the comedian, 52, admitted on the Monday, January 8 episode of GMA3: What You Need to Know. \u201cIt was a weird joke, I guess.\u201d<\/p>\n

The quip at Taylor\u2019s expense referenced the singer\u2019s relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce<\/strong>, who had a football game on the same day as the Globes and didn\u2019t attend the event<\/a> with Taylor, 34. The same network that the award show was airing on had been broadcasting football earlier in the day.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs you know, we came on after a football doubleheader,\u201d Jo said in front of the A-list crowd. \u201cThe big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? On the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift, I swear.\u201d The camera then panned to the \u201cBlank Space\u201d singer, who took a sip of her drink and remained expressionless.<\/p>\n

Taylor has attended several<\/a> of Travis\u2019 football games this season and is often shown on television during the NFL broadcasts. \u201cIt was more on the NFL,\u201d Jo explained. \u201cI was trying to make fun of the NFL using cutaways and how the Globes didn\u2019t have to do that. So it was more of a jab toward the NFL, but it just didn\u2019t come out that way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jo landed the Golden Globes hosting gig just 10 days before the show. He said that he \u201chad fun\u201d at the event but admitted that it was an \u201coff night.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a moment that I\u2019ll always remember,\u201d he added. \u201cIt\u2019s a tough room. It was a hard job, I\u2019m not going to lie. I\u2019d be lying if [I said the backlash] doesn\u2019t hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to the Taylor joke, viewers were also critical of Jo\u2019s jokes about Barbie. \u201cOppenheimer<\/em> is based on a 721 page Pulitzer Prize-winning book about the Manhattan Project and Barbie<\/em> is [about] a plastic doll with big boobies,\u201d he said at the show. \u201cThe key moment in Barbie<\/em> is when she goes from perfect beauty to bad breath, cellulite and flat feet. Or what casting directors call character actors!\u201d<\/p>\n

The audience was unamused, which Jo realized in the moment. \u201cSome [jokes] I wrote, some other people wrote,\u201d he pointed out while on stage. \u201cYes, I got the gig 10 days ago! You want a perfect monologue? Yo, shut up. You\u2019re kidding me. I wrote some of these and they are the ones you\u2019re laughing at!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
