It was Ryan Murphy\u2018s third series, following teen drama Popular and dark medical drama Nip\/Tuck. The series focused on the William McKinley High School glee club, the New Directions, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Finn wanted to follow in his dad\u2019s footsteps by enlisting in the army. He believed his father died a war hero, but his mom, Carole (Romy Rosemont<\/strong>), revealed that she lied to Finn about his father\u2019s cause of death.<\/p>\n\u201cHe died in Cincinnati after being dishonorably discharged,\u201d Carole said tearfully. \u201cHoney, he had a drug problem that he tried to get over when he came home \u2014 for you, mostly \u2014 but then he would just disappear for a day or a week sometimes. One day, he just didn\u2019t come back. It was an overdose.\u201d<\/p>\n
Carole explained that she lied \u201cbecause your dad was so much more than the last few months of his life.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<\/div>

It was just really sad to watch.\u201d<\/p>\n
McHale added, \u201cYeah, it felt really dark and morbid watching it. But obviously, there was no way to know what the future was going to be. .. it just felt very eerie.\u201d<\/p>\n
