OLED monitors are getting exciting at CES this year. Asus has just announced<\/a> three new OLED monitors, and two of them are capable of hitting 480Hz refresh rates. Much like LG<\/a>, Asus has a dual-mode 32-inch OLED monitor that can offer 240Hz refresh rates at 4K resolution, or 480Hz at 1080p. Asus is also announcing a 27-inch 1440p OLED monitor that\u2019s capable of 480Hz natively.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP dual-mode gaming monitor can switch between 4K 240Hz and 1080p 480Hz \u201cat any time,\u201d according to Asus. That means if you want to play something like Overwatch 2<\/em> or Valorant<\/em> at high refresh rates you can switch to the 1080p mode, and keep the 4K 240Hz mode for ray-traced single player titles.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n If like me you\u2019re more interested in 1440p right now then the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP offers up to 480Hz refresh rates in a 27-inch flat form factor. This appears to be the first announced 1440p 480Hz OLED monitor right now, after LG Display revealed<\/a> its 480Hz OLED panel ahead of CES last week.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Asus also has a new 39-inch ultrawide (3440 x 1440) 240Hz OLED monitor. The PG39WCDM is an aggressively curved (800R) model with a peak HDR brightness of 1,300 nits, and it also has a built-in KVM so you can control two devices with a keyboard and mouse.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n All three of Asus\u2019 latest OLED monitors feature the company\u2019s third-gen panels, with 30 percent peak brightness improvements, a 20 percent viewing angle improvements, and more safeguards against burn-in.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Unfortunately we don\u2019t have any pricing or release dates for these three new OLED displays. That\u2019s particularly disappointing since Dell has just unveiled<\/a> its new 360Hz 27-inch 1440p QD-OLED Alienware gaming monitor is launching on January 11th, priced at $899.99. Dell also has a 32-inch 4K 240Hz OLED version that\u2019s launching on the same day, priced at $1,199.99.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n All three of these new OLED monitors join the 32-inch PG32UCDM 240Hz 4K OLED<\/a> monitor that Asus announced last year. Asus still hasn\u2019t shipped the PG32UCDM yet and it\u2019s already announcing the PG32UCDP successor today. The PG32UCDM\u00a0has a second-generation QD-OLED panel, so it might be worth waiting for the third-generation PG32UCDP WOLED model to arrive instead. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
