I\u2019m hereby retired from the cooking of the food.\u201d Sure, there might be folks feeling inspired by cracking open a new planner or calendar, the fresh slate of the new year and all, perhaps starting up resolutions to cook more. As for me? I resolve to cook a bit less.<\/p>\n<p>That doesn\u2019t mean I want to eat any less well, though \u2014 far from it! Thankfully, Trader Joe\u2019s new arrivals might have made that goal a whole lot easier \u2014 almost too accurately, too. (Did someone hear all my urgent and innermost thoughts, that I simply just want someone else to do all the chopping\/marinating\/saut\u00e9ing from now on?) It would appear as if whatever mystical force that rules over Trader Joe\u2019s has chosen to grant my wishes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div data-testid=\"base-html\" class=\"Html\">\n<p>If that all sounds magical to you too, you\u2019re going to want to grab these on your next TJ\u2019s run.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"jsx-3276408043 Listicle\">\n<figure data-testid=\"figure\" class=\"jsx-748943240 jsx-4058332174 Figure\">\n<div class=\"jsx-748943240 jsx-4058332174 Figure__image\"><noscript><\/noscript><\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p><h2>1. Tortilla Espa\u00f1ola, $5.49 for 21.06 ounces<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<div data-testid=\"base-html\" class=\"Html\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thekitchn.com\/spanish-omelette-recipe-23263193\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tortilla Espa\u00f1ola<\/a> (or Spanish omelets) are a dinnertime standby for me \u2014 especially when I can go a bit wild with what <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thekitchn.com\/trader-joes-peruvian-potato-chips-review-23467915\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">potato chips<\/a> I mix in. Would I be happier not mixing up anything at all? Of course, especially when it just involves just plopping one right into my hot skillet, waiting about 15 minutes (giving it a little flip in the middle), and magically there is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thekitchn.com\/trader-joes-tortilla-espanola-23619466\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">who-gave-it-permission-to-be-this-good tortilla Espan\u00f1ola<\/a> ready for digging in.<\/p>\n<p>Loaded with tender-creamy slices of potatoes and savory onions, all wrapped around fluffy eggs, the tortilla only needs a sprinkle of paprika to make it a meal (okay, maybe a bit of Manchego on the side). It\u2019s sort of romantic, really. Tofu Sheets, $2.99 for 6.35 ounces<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<div data-testid=\"base-html\" class=\"Html\">\n<p>First things first: Tofu sheets (aka yuba) aren\u2019t technically tofu, but rather the delicate sheet that forms on top of soy milk as it is heated.<\/p>\n<p>While these aren\u2019t <em>technically<\/em> tofu, the sheets are just as versatile as tofu and contain 15 grams of protein per serving (<a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.health.harvard.edu\/blog\/how-much-protein-do-you-need-every-day-201506188096\" target=\"_blank\">The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for protein is 0.36 grams per pound<\/a>). If they look familiar, they\u2019re actually the same \u201ctofu\u201d that\u2019s featured in one of my favorite Trader Joe\u2019s meals of all time: the <a rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CWzD3sapgHI\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\">frozen Thai Vegan Green Curry<\/a>. Spicy Peanutty Noodle Bowl with Chicken, $3.49 for 10.8 ounces<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<div data-testid=\"base-html\" class=\"Html\">\n<p>Trader Joe\u2019s clearly is just showing off now, with yet another ready-to-heat meal that\u2019ll take you off dinner duty (or get you to abstain from ordering takeout for a night). The Spicy Peanutty Noodle bowl, which features ground chicken, is more than just the name of its parts. Personally, I was expecting a pretty straightforward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thekitchn.com\/dan-dan-noodles-recipe-23255636\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dan-dan noodles<\/a>-inspired meal, but this bowl had way more going on than I anticipated.<\/p>\n<p>One bite and I was like, \u201cIs that tamarind? And bok choy? Brazil Cachoeira da Grama, $9.99 for 12 ounces<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<div data-testid=\"base-html\" class=\"Html\">\n<p>In the spirit of \u201cgroceries that bring me joy,\u201d I collect the new Trader Joe\u2019s small-lot coffees like they\u2019re new Pokemon cards (rare, limited supply, pretty packaging). My main Christmas gift was my beloved <a rel=\"noopener nofollow sponsored\" data-link-type=\"product\" data-product-id=\"TextLinkProduct:5857578597744640\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Bialetti-Lichtenstein-Aluminium-Stainless-Induction\/dp\/B09W9L6T8C?th=1&amp;asc_campaign=KT-23620040&amp;asc_refurl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thekitchn.com%2Fbest-new-trader-joes-items-january-2024-23620040&amp;asc_source=%7BREFERRAL_SOURCE%7D&amp;tag=kitchn-20\" class=\"product-link\" data-gtm-product-id=\"TextLinkProduct:5857578597744640\" data-gtm-product-name=\"[PLACEHOLDER NAME]\" data-gtm-product-retailers=\"Amazon\" data-gtm-product-url=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Bialetti-Lichtenstein-Aluminium-Stainless-Induction\/dp\/B09W9L6T8C?th=1\">mini Bialetti Express<\/a>, so I\u2019ve been more eager than ever to try new coffee in the morning.<\/p>\n<p>As I ground my coffee beans mid-shop, I knew this Brazilian blend would be pretty stellar just from the scents wafting out alone. Bright, sparkly sweet, and reminiscent of a candied orange, the Cachoiera da Gama (cachoeira translates to \u201cwaterfall\u201d) brews a coffee that I\u2019d drink by the waterfall if I physically could. Beef Bulgogi, $12.99 for 16 ounces<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n<div data-testid=\"base-html\" class=\"Html\">\n<p>If I\u2019m choosing the restaurant for dinner, it\u2019s going to be Korean BBQ, especially the ones where you can cook right at your table. But now I can recreate at least part of that experience at home with Trader Joe\u2019s new frozen Beef Bulgogi.<\/p>\n<p>Much like my other eerily spot-on frozen fave, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thekitchn.com\/trader-joes-new-items-june-2022-23344747\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">beef birria<\/a>, Trader Joe\u2019s beef bulgogi gets frighteningly close to matching the marinated thin-cut strips of beef of my usual Korean spot. Sweet and savory with a marinade (made of onion, garlic, mirin, as well as apple, pineapple, and pear juices), the beef bulgogi barely made it out of my skillet and to my plate. I basically ate half of it right from said skillet.
