Jarrett \u201cJT\u201d Thomas<\/strong><\/a> had no plans on becoming a reality star, but after relocating to Charleston while navigating a divorce, he soon snagged a spot on the cast of Southern Charm<\/em><\/a>. The real estate agent got candid about the downfall of his marriage with his ex-wife during his season 9 debut \u2013 and it pulled on fans\u2019 heartstrings.<\/p>\n When JT joined the hit Bravo show, his costars were feuding over a massive love square between exes Shep Rose<\/strong> and Taylor Ann Green<\/strong> and Austen Kroll<\/strong> and Olivia Flowers<\/strong>. After having a front-row seat to the toxic exes\u2019\u2019 blowouts, JT reflected on his lack of a love life after becoming a divorcee.<\/p>\n \u201cI have a good life. I should be happy. Just, I botched that one, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n JT declined to reveal the identity of his ex-wife for her well-being and their dynamic is \u201call worked out now,\u201d though the divorce was initially \u201cpainful.\u201d<\/p>\n The TV personality tied the knot with his former wife when he was 22 and the marriage lasted \u201cabout four or five years.\u201d \u201cI really loved my ex-wife, but I just don\u2019t think people should get married when you\u2019re 22,\u201d JT said in an oncamera interview.<\/p>\n Though their romantic relationship didn\u2019t work out, JT\u2019s ex won over the hearts of his family. \u201cShe was gorgeous and lovely as a human, and you are too, but you guys were just children,\u201d JT\u2019s mother said during an oncamera phone conversation.<\/p>\n \u201cI often wonder if I had met her at 30, would it have been different? Because I would\u2019ve been more mature,\u201d he replied, leading his mom to say, \u201cAbsolutely. You know why?
