\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Cher<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s son, Elijah Blue Allman<\/strong><\/a>, has contested his mother\u2019s legal attempts to establish a conservatorship over him. <\/p>\n In late December, the 77-year-old \u201cBelieve\u201d pop icon filed court documents seeking to be named the conservator of his estate<\/a> amid concerns that he was \u201csubstantially unable to manage his own financial resources.\u201d <\/p>\n She expressed concerns that his money would be spent on drugs and cited mental health struggles as the reason for her concerns. <\/p>\n Elijah<\/strong> filed his response in court on Thursday (January 4). <\/p>\n Read more about Elijah Blue Allman\u2019s response\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n In the documents, obtained by Page Six<\/a>, Elijah <\/strong>states that \u201ca conservatorship of the estate is not necessary at this time, no reason exists for the appointment of a conservator, the proposed conservator is not entitled to priority, and proposed conservator is unfit to serve.\u201d<\/p>\n He wrote that he was \u201cclean and sober from illicit substances for over 90 days\u201d and said that he was \u201cfully capable of and committed to managing the money I receive quarterly from the trust left by my late father.\u201d <\/p>\n Elijah expressed that he was \u201cwilling to submit to future drug testing\u201d and admitted to \u201cstruggling with addiction.\u201d <\/p>\n Noting that he was not \u201ccomfortable\u201d with Cher <\/strong>overseeing his estate, he wrote, \u201cWhile I understand that my mother, the proposed conservator, believes she is looking out for my best interests and I appreciate her love and support, I do not need her unsolicited help or support at this time.<\/p>\n Cher<\/strong>\u2018s attempt to file a conservatorship comes a few months after she was accused of hiring men to kidnap Elijah<\/strong><\/a>.
