Golden Bachelor<\/em><\/a> star Gerry Turner<\/strong><\/a> is set to marry Theresa Nist<\/strong><\/a> in a televised event on Thursday, January 4, and the retired restaurateur gushed about his hopes for his and Theresa\u2019s wedding day.<\/p>\n \u201cTheresa will not have even made it to the platform where we\u2019re going to exchange our vows, and that moment I see her walking down the aisle is going to get me,\u201d Gerry, 72, told People<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on January 4.<\/p>\n Theresa, 70, also chimed in with excitement about the couple\u2019s big day.<\/p>\n \u201cWe don\u2019t want it to go pass us by,\u201d she explained. \u201cEspecially at this age, we\u2019ve learned the lesson: You just live in the moment and don\u2019t wish for tomorrow to come. I envision it as such a fun, warm, wonderful day, a day filled with joy and laughter and positive energy and everyone being happy to be there.\u201d<\/p>\n Gerry and Theresa also spilled a few details regarding things like the ceremony, the reception and Theresa\u2019s style of wedding dress. Theresa\u2019s son, Matt, will escort her down the aisle and he\u2019ll also fill the role as one of Gerry\u2019s groomsmen. Her youngest grandson, Henry, will serve as the ceremony\u2019s ring bearer while her older grandsons, Brandon, Braxton, Brody, Dempsey and Leo will stand with Gerry as junior groomsmen. Gerry\u2019s two daughters, Angie Warner<\/strong> and Jenny Young<\/strong><\/a>, will serve as Theresa\u2019s bridesmaids along with Angie\u2019s daughters, Charlee and Payton.<\/p>\n Theresa described her gown as \u201cnot something [she] would envision [she] would wear,\u201d but said that it was \u201ctraditional and modern.\u201d<\/p>\n The finance professional also said that she enlisted friends and fellow Golden Bachelor<\/em> contestants Susan Noles<\/strong><\/a> and Kathy Swarts<\/strong> to help her choose her wedding dress.<\/p>\n \u201cI was presented with these incredibly gorgeous gowns from Badgley Mischka, and I was overwhelmed,\u201d Theresa said to People<\/em>. \u201cI asked each one of these beautiful women to go pick their favorite. And then I picked three of mine, and I walked down the stairs with them. And when it was the dress, they unanimously thought this was the good gown. I think Susan was so proud because that\u2019s the one I picked out!\u201d<\/p>\n As for a color theme, Theresa said she went with lots of light pinks and peaches to achieve a \u201cvery light and airy look.\u201d The mom of two also chose gold flowers as an accent.<\/p>\n
