Garcelle Beauvais<\/strong><\/a> confronted Dorit Kemsley<\/strong><\/a> about her \u201cunconscious Karen behavior\u201d during a tense Real Housewives of Beverly Hills<\/em><\/a> scene.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a pattern with you that I don\u2019t know whether you\u2019re aware of or not, but I\u2019m just going to be completely blunt,\u201d Garcelle, 57, told Dorit, 47, during the Wednesday, January 3, episode of the Bravo series. \u201cI feel like two years ago, we were talking about people of color. Has there been growth since the last time you were like, people of color have worked for you?\u201d<\/p>\n

During her confessional, Dorit said that being called a \u201cKaren\u201d is a \u201cvery, very serious, dangerous accusation.\u201d She added, \u201cIt\u2019s hurtful, and that accusation holds a lot of implications. I\u2019m not feeling comfortable with this at all.\u201d<\/p>\n

Garcelle and Dorit\u2019s conversation came after an argument between the two women at Crystal Kung Minkoff\u2019<\/strong>s house during the prior<\/a> RHOBH<\/em> episode. During their back-and-forth, Dorit claimed Garcelle was \u201cattacking\u201d her and didn\u2019t understand why that term was an issue. (During a 2021 RHOBH<\/em> episode, Dorit said she has \u201cvery multicultural\u201d people who work for her, which inspired a similar conversation with Garcelle.)<\/p>\n

\u201cThe word \u2018attack\u2019 just hit me in the wrong place,\u201d Garcelle admitted during Wednesday\u2019s episode. \u201cThere\u2019s certain words, when you point them at me, it has a completely different impact<\/a>. You have to know who you\u2019re dealing with.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued, \u201cThere are three words you don\u2019t say to Black women: You don\u2019t say \u2018aggressive,\u2019 you don\u2019t say \u2018attack\u2019 and you don\u2019t say \u2018angry,\u2019 because that\u2019s labeling us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dorit doubled down on what she claimed was an \u201cinnocent\u201d use of the term. \u201cIf it\u2019s offended you in any way, I\u2019m very sorry,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Garcelle said she was offended by their previous interaction, revealing that she had been \u201cemotional\u201d over it for two days.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not here to educate you, that\u2019s not my job. I don\u2019t have the bandwidth to do it,\u201d Garcelle continued. \u201cBut I feel like you need to be aware of who you\u2019re talking to and when you\u2019re talking to them and what you say.\u201d<\/p>\n

Garcelle accused Dorit of using the term \u201cattack\u201d<\/a> to hurt her, but Dorit denied that allegation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy else would you say it?\u201d Garcelle asked. In her confessional, Garcelle added, \u201cThis is exactly why she gets under my skin<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

She went on to say that Dorit was \u201con the defense\u201d and \u201cnot listening\u201d to what was being said.<\/p>\n

Dorit later asked Garcelle why she keeps \u201craising this\u201d issue. \u201cWhat does it feel like, that I\u2019m racist?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not labeling you,\u201d Garcelle responded. \u201cIf there\u2019s racist undertone, that\u2019s not my fault. \u2026 I\u2019m not calling you anything.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dorit then apologized for using the term \u201cattack\u201d but wanted to know whether there was something else that Garcelle needed to address<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re a child of the world, you speak four different languages. Why don\u2019t you understand that being in my shoes is different than being in your shoes?\u201d Garcelle asked.<\/p>\n

Dorit replied, \u201cI most certainly understand that, and I\u2019ve never suggested otherwise.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dorit went on to say that she hopes she and Garcelle can meet some \u201ccommon ground\u201d at some point in the future. She added, \u201cIt definitely feels like everything is on me right now.\u201d<\/p>\n
