Selena Gomez<\/strong><\/a> has balanced her passions for acting, music and beauty for years, but she may not be a triple threat for much longer.<\/p>\n

In a clip from an upcoming episode of the \u201cSmartLess\u201d podcast<\/a>, which was released on Monday, January 1, Gomez, 31, recalled how her music career began after recording songs while starring in multiple Disney Channel projects.<\/p>\n

\u201cI started having a lot of fun with music and then touring was really fun,\u201d she told hosts Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes<\/strong> and Will Arnett<\/strong>. \u201cBut I was doing my TV show [Wizards of Waverly Place<\/em>] at the same time, and I just found it really fun, so I just kept going. But the older I get, the more I\u2019m kind of like, \u2018I would like to find something to just settle on.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Gomez admitted that she could see herself shifting her focus<\/a> from music to acting for good.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tFrom Barney to Disney Channel star and beyond! At a young age, Selena Gomez became a household name and continues to push the status quo in the entertainment industry as the years go by. In the middle of her booming career, Gomez suffered a few personal setbacks including a lupus diagnosis, life-changing transplant surgery and [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI do feel like I have one more album in me, but I would probably choose acting,\u201d she said before the hosts reassured her that it\u2019s possible to do both.\u201cYou\u2019re right, but I am going to want to chill because I\u2019m tired.\u201d<\/p>\n

During her Disney days, Gomez initially performed with her band Selena Gomez & the Scene. They released three studio albums<\/a> from 2009 to 2011 before Gomez pursued a solo career.<\/p>\n

Gomez dropped her first solo record in 2013 and was later nominated for a Grammy Award for her fourth EP, Revelaci\u00f3n<\/em>, which was up for Best Latin Pop Album in 2022. She returned with a new song titled \u201cSingle Soon\u201d last year.<\/p>\n

In addition to her music career, Gomez has starred in Spring Breakers, The Fundamentals of Caring, The Dead Don\u2019t Die <\/em>and Hulu\u2019s Only Murders in the Building<\/em><\/a>, for which she has earned two Golden Globe nominations.<\/p>\n

While discussing her professional accomplishments on \u201cSmartLess,\u201d Gomez revealed that her heavy workload has taken a toll<\/a>, adding, \u201cI went to a mental institute and canceled one of my tours. It just got to me because I love working and it distracts me from bad things.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gomez previously discussed her mental health struggles in her documentary, Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me<\/em>. The Apple TV+ special, which was released in 2022, explored her highs and lows<\/a> between 2016 and 2020.<\/p>\n
