David Beckham<\/strong><\/a> mocked his wife, Victoria Beckham<\/strong><\/a>, for previously claiming that she grew up in a \u201cworking class\u201d family. The former professional athlete shared a photo of the couple having lunch with Victoria\u2019s parents<\/a> at The Ritz Carlton on December 31, and poked fun at the fashion designer in the Instagram<\/a> caption.<\/p>\n \u201cJust a casual New Year\u2019s Eve lunch at The Ritz. Very working class,\u201d David, 48, wrote sarcastically, along with a laughing face emoji.<\/p>\n Victoria, 49, made the \u201cworking class\u201d claim in David\u2019s documentary, Beckham<\/em>,<\/a> which was released on Netflix in October. While doing a one-on-one interview for the show, Victoria opened up about her childhood and said, \u201cWe\u2019re very, very working class.\u201d<\/p>\n From another room, David caught wind of the interview and popped in to deny his wife\u2019s description. \u201cBe honest,\u201d he insisted. \u201cWhat car did your dad drive you to school in?\u201d<\/p>\n After Victoria initially responded, \u201cIt\u2019s not a simple answer. It depends,\u201d she eventually admitted that her parents had a Rolls-Royce in the 1980s.<\/p>\n David added a reference to this in his New Year\u2019s Eve Instagram post. \u201cMy mother and father in law left [lunch] in [their] Roll\u2019s,\u201d he joked.<\/p>\n Viewers of Beckham thought it was hilarious to see David put Victoria in her place while the cameras were rolling. The pair\u2019s relationship was a focal point of the docuseries, as they discussed the ups and downs of their 24-year marriage.<\/p>\n Most notably, the couple addressed a difficult period of their marriage in the early 2000s when the soccer star was accused of having an affair<\/a> with Rebecca Loos<\/strong>. David denied the affair allegations in 2004, but Victoria still said it was a \u201cnightmare\u201d experience to go through. \u201cI can\u2019t even begin to tell you how hard it was and how it affected me,\u201d she admitted in the documentary.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, David revealed that it was \u201cincredibly difficult\u201d for him to see his wife hurting. \u201cBut we\u2019re fighters and at the time we needed to fight for each other,\u201d he explained. \u201cWe needed to fight for our family, and what we had was worth fighting for.\u201d<\/p>\n After the documentary came out, Rebecca, 46, stood by her story and slammed David for making her look like<\/a> a \u201cliar\u201d in the footage. \u201cHe is making himself a victim and he is making me look like the liar,\u201d she said in October. \u201cHe\u2019s making me look like I made up these horrible stories and that I\u2019m the one who made Victoria suffer. Poor him. He had nothing to do with it. It\u2019s so awful.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
