Maxie Jones is temporarily being played by a new actress. <\/span>Multiple<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>outlets<\/a> report that, on the Dec. 27 episode of\u00a0<\/span>General Hospital<\/a><\/em>, Kirsten Storms’ character was played by Nicole Paggi.<\/span><\/p>\n Soap Opera Digest<\/em><\/a>, who was first to report the casting switcheroo, noted that the change-up lasted only one day.\u00a0<\/span>Deadline<\/em><\/a>, however, reported that Storms was scheduled to be out of work “for a few days.”<\/span><\/p>\n Paggi is known for her role of Sydney on\u00a0<\/span>Hope & Faith\u00a0<\/span><\/em>back in the early aughts. She’s since appeared on\u00a0<\/span>CSI: Miami<\/span><\/em>,\u00a0<\/span>90210<\/span><\/em>,\u00a0<\/span>Rizzoli & Isles<\/span><\/em>,\u00a0<\/span>9-1-1<\/span><\/em>, and\u00a0<\/span>The Rookie: Feds<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n It’s not the first time Storms has taken a break from the soap opera. After joining the show in 2005, Storms was temporarily replaced by Jen Lilley in 2011. Storms returned to the role in 2012, but <\/span>took several leaves<\/a> between 2016 and 2018, during which time Maxie was often played by\u00a0Molly Burnett.<\/span><\/p>\n Storms, likewise,\u00a0<\/span>took a leave of absence<\/a> in 2021 to focus on her health after <\/span>undergoing brain surgery<\/a>. Maxie was not recast that time, though, as the character\u00a0left\u00a0Port Charles with her baby and went to\u00a0Texas, where she stayed until Storms’ return.<\/span><\/p>\n In addition to her role on\u00a0<\/span>General Hospital<\/span><\/em>, Storms is best known for her titular role in Disney Channel’s <\/span>Zenon<\/span><\/i>\u00a0movies. She’s also appeared on\u00a0<\/span>7th Heaven<\/span><\/em>, voiced Bonnie in <\/span>Kim Possible<\/span><\/em>, and played her\u00a0<\/span>GH\u00a0<\/span><\/em>role on the show’s spinoff,\u00a0<\/span>General Hospital: Night Shift.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
