\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Paula Abdul<\/strong><\/a> is suing Nigel Lythgoe<\/strong><\/a> for sexual assault and harassment.<\/p>\n On Friday (December 29), the 61-year-old singer and former American Idol<\/em> judge filed a lawsuit against the 74-year-old TV producer and head of competition shows such as American Idol<\/em> and So You Think You Can Dance<\/em>, per The Blast<\/a>.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n According to legal documents obtained by the outlet, Paula<\/strong> alleges that Nigel<\/strong> \u201cverbally insulated and belittled\u201d her on multiple occasions dating back to 2001, and sexually assaulted her during an early season of American Idol<\/em>. <\/p>\n The lawsuit states that before Paula<\/strong> joined the show, Nigel<\/strong> told her that she was a \u201chas been\u201d celebrity and that the contestants wouldn\u2019t know her.<\/p>\n A description of an alleged incident of sexual assault reads: \u201cOne evening, following the day\u2019s auditions, Lythgoe and Abdul entered the elevator of the hotel where they were staying. Upon entering the elevator, Lythgoe shoved Abdul against the wall, then grabbed her genitals and breasts, and began shoving his tongue down her throat. Abdul attempted to push Lythgoe away from her. When the doors to the elevator for her floor opened, Abdul ran out of the elevator and to her hotel room.
