Andy Cohen<\/strong><\/a> and Anderson Cooper<\/strong><\/a> are known for their hilarious \u2014 and sometimes unhinged \u2014 antics during CNN\u2019s live New Year\u2019s Eve broadcast.<\/p>\n

Cohen became Cooper\u2019s cohost in 2017 when he replaced Kathy Griffin<\/strong>. However, the pair have known each other for decades after first crossing paths when their friends tried to set them up on a blind date in the early \u201890s.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had a phone call to set up the date, and I knew within 45 seconds I was never going on a date with Andy Cohen,\u201d Cooper told Jimmy Fallon<\/strong> during a 2017 appearance on The Tonight Show<\/em>, noting that he canceled their date<\/a>. \u201cHe violated my cardinal rule, which is he asked me about my mom [Gloria Vanderbilt] within the first minute of talking to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cohen, for his part, said he was \u201cexcited\u201d about their phone call, adding, \u201cI wanted to date the Vanderbilt boy!\u201d<\/p>\n

CNN banned their correspondents from drinking while ringing in 2023, and Cohen begged the network to reverse the decision heading into 2024<\/a>.<\/p>\n
