Savannah Chrisley<\/b><\/a> shared a message about joy while celebrating her first Christmas since her parents, <\/span>Todd Chrisley<\/b><\/a> and <\/span>Julie Chrisley<\/b><\/a>,<\/b>, were incarcerated.<\/p>\n \u201cMerry Christmas Eve guys,\u201d Savannah, 26, told fans in an Instagram Stories video posted on December 24. \u201cI just want to jump on here and say that just because it\u2019s the holidays doesn\u2019t mean you have to be all joyous and happy if you\u2019re not feeling it. I feel you.\u201d<\/p>\n She then noted that \u201cit\u2019s OK if you\u2019re not excited about\u201d the holidays or if you are \u201cgrieving during this time.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cDo what makes you feel OK. What makes you feel best because I\u2019m with you,\u201d the former Chrisley Knows Best<\/em> star said. \u201cIt\u2019s not the happiest time for me.\u201d<\/p>\n Savannah then said she was trying to keep some of her family\u2019s holiday traditions alive, sharing that she planned to recreate her \u201cmom\u2019s Christmas lunch.\u201d<\/p>\n She also invited those who didn\u2019t have \u201canywhere to go\u201d<\/a> to join her for the holiday in a following video. \u201cWe\u2019re just gonna eat and make fun drinks \u200baround a fire,\u201d Savannah explained. \u201cI want my house to be the place that everyone can come that doesn\u2019t have anywhere to go.\u201d<\/p>\n Todd, 54, and Julie, 50, were found guilty in June 2022 of all charges of bank fraud and wire fraud in their tax evasion trial<\/a>. The Chrisley patriarch was convicted of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States and tax fraud. Meanwhile, Julie was convicted of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, conspiracy to defraud the United States, tax fraud and wire fraud.<\/p>\n He was sentenced to serve 12 years in prison and Julie will be behind bars for seven years<\/a>, Life & Style<\/em> confirmed following their sentencing hearing in November 2022. Not only will the couple have to serve their time in prison, but both Todd and Julie also received 16 months of probation.<\/p>\n While their sentences were revealed before Christmas in 2022, Todd and Julie were able to spend the holiday with their family and reported to prison on January 17.<\/p>\n Savannah has been open about her struggles<\/a> regarding her parents\u2019 time behind bars ever since they reported to prison.<\/p>\n \u201cObviously, under the circumstances you can only be doing so well. It\u2019s a challenge,\u201d she told HollywoodLife<\/em><\/a> in October about how Todd and Julie were holding up amid their sentences. \u201cIt\u2019s hard as their daughter sitting and watching it, seeing just how they\u2019re treated, and the things that are happening. It\u2019s also sad to see how we have as a society kind of just turned our backs on people as a whole, and we\u2019re so quick to throw people away.\u201d<\/p>\n She added that the experience taught her that many people are \u201cquick to throw people away.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cUnfortunately, it takes someone with a following and a voice to try and implement change,\u201d Savannah continued, vowing that she would use her platform to speak out on the topic. \u201cSo that\u2019s just been at the top of my list. I\u2019ve been able to channel my anger in a more productive way and try to implement change where change needs to be had.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
