Kody Brown<\/strong><\/a> spilled the tea on why he allegedly didn\u2019t break up with Christine Brown<\/strong><\/a> before she initiated their split in 2021.<\/p>\n \u201cShe called me a coward because I was never willing to break up with her,\u201d Kody, 54, recalls of Christine, 51, in Us Weekly<\/em>\u2019s exclusive sneak peek of the Sunday, December 31, episode of the Sister Wives Look Back: How It\u2019s Going<\/em><\/a> special. \u201cIt\u2019s because, well, you\u2019re not really allowed.\u201d<\/p>\n During the upcoming episode, Kody and Christine rewatch their 2021 conversation in which Christine asked her then-husband, \u201cDo you want to be married to me?\u201d After he asked her the same question, she replied, \u201cNo, I don\u2019t want to be married to you.\u201d<\/p>\n In the throwback clip, Kody said he\u2019s \u201cgood with that\u201d and claimed, \u201cNobody\u2019s a prisoner here.\u201d The pair, who spiritually wed in 1994, announced their breakup<\/a> in November 2021.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m the prisoner here,\u201d Kody claims in the upcoming episode while reflecting on that fateful moment. \u201cI can\u2019t just go, \u2018Hey, bitch, I\u2019m done with you.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n He further explains, \u201cWhen a polygamist husband goes, \u2018Hey, listen, I can\u2019t deal with this woman anymore,\u2019 he goes through the church authority channel,\u201d who Kody says would then tell him he\u2019s stuck in that relationship. \u201cOnce we\u2019ve committed to marry a woman, the choice is gone,\u201d Kody explains.<\/p>\n Elsewhere in the clip, Kody confesses that he\u2019s \u201cglad\u201d Christine was \u201cbrave enough\u201d to end their marriage. \u201cBecause, no, I wasn\u2019t in love with her<\/a>. As much as I tried to love her, it just wasn\u2019t working all the time,\u201d he reveals.<\/p>\n Christine remembers the 2021 breakup discussion as the moment that Kody \u201cagreed I could go,\u201d which she says felt \u201cgood\u201d after all their ups and downs. \u201cThat\u2019s the day that I took my power,\u201d she adds. \u201cI stopped focusing on him<\/a> and I started focusing on me and my life and my kids.\u201d<\/p>\n Christine and Kody share six children: Aspyn<\/strong>, 28, Mykelti<\/strong>, 27, Paedon<\/strong>, 25, Gwendlyn<\/strong>, 22, Ysabel<\/strong>, 20, and Truely<\/strong>, 13.<\/p>\n
