Jeremy Allen White<\/strong><\/a> and Zac Efron<\/strong> <\/a>checked in with The Iron Claw <\/i>production about how intensely they should train<\/a> to play wrestlers.<\/p>\n

\u201cI asked. I remember for the wrestling stuff, I was like, \u2018Do real wrestlers do something or are they just on their own?\u2019\u201d White, 32, quipped during a Thursday, December 21, interview on Barstool Sports\u2019 KFC Radio<\/a>, seemingly referring to performance-enhancing drugs. \u201cAnd everyone was like, \u2018They\u2019re on their own,\u2019 then I was like, \u2018We\u2019re on our own.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Efron, 36, concurred with his costar, noting that \u201cyou can\u2019t help but have that moment\u201d while training.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018Do I slip something in here?\u2019\u201d Efron jokingly chimed in. \u201cWe also really stayed on during matches too, [and] there was no layer of protection under [my briefs]. Like, if those come off, we got a real audience out there.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tZac Efron fans are finally going to see what that bowl cut and beefed-up physique were all about. The actor was photographed looking unrecognizable on the set of the sports drama The Iron Claw in October 2022. Nine months later, A24 announced that the film will hit theaters nationwide in December. Efron stars as real-life [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Iron Claw<\/i>, which hit theaters on Friday, December 22<\/a>, stars Efron and White as wrestling champs Kevin Von Erich and Kerry Von Erich, respectively. The film follows the Von Erich family\u2019s real-life wrestling dynasty. (Harris Dickinson<\/strong> plays Kevin and Kerry\u2019s brother<\/a> David Von Erich.)<\/p>\n

While White, Efron and Dickinson, 27, all got ripped<\/a> to play professional athletes, White joked on Thursday that \u201cit wasn\u2019t even a question\u201d who was the strongest in a nod to Efron.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, I did [put in effort too]. I ate more and I lifted stuff, but it\u2019s the truth,\u201d White added.<\/p>\n

Efron, for his part, pointed out that White also had a \u201ckiller transformation\u201d to portray Kerry. \u201cIt was wild,\u201d the High School Musical <\/i>star quipped on Thursday. \u201cOne of the cool things in the movie is Jeremy \u2026 does these overhead push-ups from the ground. Like, those are hard to do! I can\u2019t get many reps in those [and] I was impressed, man. You blew out, like, 10 to 15 in one take \u2014 and then again when you were doing that kegstand.\u201d<\/p>\n

Efron explained: \u201cI was there watching that scene and it was Lily [James]<\/strong> and I, we had coverage, so the camera was just watching us watch him and [Jeremy] just kept going. It was unreal.\u201d<\/p>\n

While White accepted his costar\u2019s praise, he admitted that he also had \u201ca lot of help\u201d to get in shape.<\/p>\n
