Could Pink Slip be taking the stage once again? Earlier this year, Disney announced that a Freaky Friday<\/em> sequel is in the works \u2014 and Christina Vidal<\/strong> knows exactly where she would want to find her musically inclined character.<\/p>\n

In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly<\/em>, the Primo<\/em> star, 42, opened up about the 2003 film, in which she starred as Maddie, the best friend \u2014 and Pink Slip bandmate \u2014 of Lindsay Lohan<\/strong>\u2019s character, Anna. \u201cI\u2019d love to see that character still performing,\u201d Vidal shared. \u201cMaybe she has a cover band, or maybe she had a bunch of kids and they have a band, and they still perform.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve thought about this a lot, obviously,\u201d she quipped. \u201cI also thought it would be kind of cool if she had a school for musicians and people who want to learn how to [play], specifically young [people].\u201d<\/p>\n

(Though there is no word yet on whether Vidal and Haley Hudson<\/strong> \u2014 who played Peg \u2014 have signed on for the Freaky Friday<\/em> sequel, the film\u2019s producer Andrew Gunn<\/strong> recently teased that a script<\/a> developed before the writer\u2019s strike used the \u201cmusic and the band in a great way.\u201d)<\/p>\n

Vidal told Us<\/em> she would also like to put a family spin on a modern-day version of Taina<\/em>, the beloved Nickelodeon series in which she played the title character. \u201cIn real life, I have a very talented niece who is beautiful and writes music, sings and plays guitar,\u201d the mom of two says. \u201cI thought it would be cool to take that story into Taina, and somehow it becomes about Taina\u2019s niece. She\u2019s 10 times more talented than Taina ever was.\u201d<\/p>\n

The one film Vidal would likely pass on revisiting? Brink<\/em>, released in 1998: \u201cI\u2019m just not a good skater,\u201d she explained, \u201cand I got a pretty serious injury on that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Past projects aside, Vidal currently stars on Primo<\/em> as Drea, a single mother raising her teenage son, Rafa (Ignacio Diaz-Silverio<\/strong>), alongside her five brothers in San Antonio. The actress told Us<\/em> that the role was a bit of a stretch for her \u2014 which made it all the more pleasing to inhabit.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tAmid the WGA and SAG strikes, the fall TV schedule is in for a shakeup with both new and returning shows. Hulu\u2019s The Other Black Girl explores Nella\u2019s (Sinclair Daniel) journey as the only Black woman at a New York City publishing firm. She gets excited when Hazel (Ashleigh Murray) arrives before quickly starting to [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s tougher [and] stronger, and she gets it done. Everyone is a little afraid of her,\u201d she explained. \u201cI\u2019m the complete opposite. I just did not come out like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Though fans are still waiting to hear whether the Amazon Freevee coming-of-age comedy will be renewed for a second season, Vidal already has ideas for Drea\u2019s next chapter. \u201cI want to see more of the individual dynamics between Drea and each of the brothers, and Rafa and each of the uncles,\u201d she shared. \u201cWe got a little taste of that in season 1, and I just loved it.\u201d<\/p>\n
