Michelle Monaghan<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about her unique \u201choneymoon\u201d on the set of Mission: Impossible III<\/em> opposite her movie love interest, Tom Cruise<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Monaghan, 47, married artist Peter White<\/strong> on August 12, 2005, and rushed to film the blockbuster action movie immediately afterward, leaving no time for a traditional honeymoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember going to work, and Tom [Cruise] and I had kind of an intimate scene, and of course that was the first scene,\u201d Monaghan recalled to Collider<\/em><\/a> on December 14. Her new husband wasn\u2019t worried, though. Monaghan shared that White, 47, joked at the time, \u201cHow cool is it that you were making out with Tom Cruise on our honeymoon?\u201d<\/p>\n

While promoting their new film, The Family Plan<\/em>, Monaghan and Mark Wahlberg<\/strong> reflected on the movies they were most nervous to shoot. For Monaghan, Mission Impossible<\/em> was an easy answer.<\/p>\n

It was such a big film,\u201d she said. \u201cI came home from work, I was so nervous, and my husband was like, \u2018Don\u2019t worry, you\u2019re gonna follow [Cruise\u2019s] lead. You\u2019re gonna have a great time. It\u2019s going to be wonderful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Monaghan played Cruise\u2019s onscreen fianc\u00e9e, Julia Meade, in Mission: Impossible III<\/em> (2006). At the beginning of the movie, Meade is unaware of Ethan Hunt\u2019s real job as an IMF (Impossible Mission Force) agent, but she is eventually forced to enter the action herself. Fact blurred with fiction when Monaghan and Cruise\u2019s characters leave for their own honeymoon at the end of the film.<\/p>\n

Monaghan reprised her role in Mission: Impossible \u2013 Ghost Protocol<\/em> (2011) and Mission: Impossible \u2013 Fallout (2018)<\/em>. Despite her onscreen chemistry with Cruise, her job never got in the way of her marriage.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Peter and I are] just such fans [of Tom],\u201d Monaghan said. \u201c[Peter is] learning things. But that is a testament to the man that I married, who has just been totally supportive and is excited and jazzed for the opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n
