Fans are quickly putting together casting ideas in the wake of Marvel firing Jonathan Majors<\/strong><\/a>, but they can take John Boyega<\/strong><\/a> off their wish lists.<\/p>\n

Boyega, 31, posted photos of himself with Captain America<\/a> actor Anthony Mackie<\/strong> via X<\/a> (formerly Twitter) last month, prompting one fan to reply, \u201ctell anthony mackie to connect you w whoever in charge of recasting kang.\u201d Boyega responded with a gif of Donkey from Shrek<\/em> shaking his head, indicating he didn\u2019t want to replace Majors, 36, in any future superhero franchise.<\/p>\n

Hours after Majors was found guilty<\/a> of assault in the third degree and harassment on Monday, November 18, Us Weekly<\/em> <\/a>confirmed that he was fired from Marvel Studios. Majors played Kang the Conqueror (and several different variations of the antagonist) in Loki<\/em><\/a> and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania<\/em>, and he was set to have a large role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe moving forward with Avengers: Kang Dynasty<\/em> set for 2026.<\/p>\n

Without Majors, fans are left wondering if Marvel will pivot away from Kang or simply recast him. However, it\u2019s clear Boyega isn\u2019t interested in playing Kang or anyone else in the MCU.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJonathan Majors made headlines on March 25 when he was arrested following an alleged domestic violence dispute. The New York Police Department named Majors as the aggressor in an assault involving a 30-year-old woman in a statement to Variety. \u201cThe victim informed police she was assaulted. Officers placed the 33-year-old male into custody without incident,\u201d [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s not in the vision for me now,\u201d Boyega told Men\u2019s Health<\/em> <\/a>in August 2022 when asked about rumors he had an upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe role. \u201cI want to do nuanced things. I want to donate my services to original indie films that come with new, fresh ideas, because I know it\u2019s real hard to top Iron Man in that universe.\u201d<\/p>\n

The British actor portrayed Finn in the latest Star Wars<\/em><\/a> trilogy, and he\u2019s been vocal about how he felt his character was mishandled by Disney, which owns both Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I would say to Disney is do not bring out a Black character, market them to be much more important in the franchise than they are and then have them pushed to the side,\u201d he told GQ<\/em><\/a> in 2020. \u201cIt\u2019s not good. I\u2019ll say it straight up.\u201d<\/p>\n
