On Friday, two days after Threads finally started publicly testing ActivityPub integration<\/a>, Instagram head Adam Mosseri shared a thread on Threads<\/a> detailing the company\u2019s plans for its continued integration with the fediverse. Right now, it\u2019s possible to follow a few Threads accounts (including Mosseri\u2019s) from other platforms, but Meta has much bigger plans for Threads interoperability that Mosseri says will take \u201cthe better part of a year\u201d to realize.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Here\u2019s what\u2019s in the works, according to Mosseri.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Mosseri says the updates will roll out \u201cin stages,\u201d<\/a> and he recognizes that the \u201cbetter part of a year\u201d timeline is a long one. \u201cThat\u2019s a lot longer than I, or anybody on the team, wants, but it\u2019s the reality given all the other work we need to be balance,\u201d he says<\/a>.
