\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Shawn Johnson<\/strong><\/a> and Andrew East<\/strong><\/a> are now parents to three!<\/p>\n The 31-year-old Olympic gold medalist gave birth to the couple\u2019s third child via a scheduled C-section on Tuesday (December 12), they revealed in their FamilyMade<\/em> newsletter.<\/p>\n In the announcement, Shawn <\/strong>noted that she is \u201cfeeling good,\u201d but only \u201cas good as one can feel after giving birth.\u201d<\/p>\n Find out more inside\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cDrew<\/strong> and Jett <\/strong>were both big babies so my OB recommended we schedule a C-section if we got close to 40 weeks. We also didn\u2019t want to risk the baby getting stuck in my pelvis again, like what happened with Drew<\/strong>,\u201d the Olympian shared. \u201cI\u2019ve had two C-sections before so I knew what to expect. It\u2019s definitely a major surgery and wild to think about doing it a third time but there was something comforting about walking in and knowing what to expect.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cOur baby is healthy and that\u2019s all we can ask for!\u201d she added. \u201cRecovery is always a process and I\u2019ve learned to be really patient with my body. Not trying to rush anything and really just going to soak it all in.\u201d<\/p>\n While this is her third child, they\u2019re also parents to daughter, Drew<\/strong>, 4, and son Jett<\/strong>, 2, Shawn<\/strong> dished on the nerves and excitement leading up to the baby\u2019s birth.<\/p>\n \u201cThe third time around feels so surreal because even though we\u2019ve done this twice before, there\u2019s still so much nervousness and excitement around the days leading up to the birth and then so much magic once you get to hold your sweet baby in your arms for the first time. It really never gets old,\u201d Shawn<\/strong> said. \u201cYou spend your whole pregnancy wondering how you could possibly love another baby just as much as your first two and then in an instant your heart expands and basically triples in size, it\u2019s incredible.
