Condiments are a pretty subjective topic for debate. For example, do you put ketchup or mustard on a hot dog? How do you feel about ranch on pizza? What about Sriracha on eggs? Everyone has their sauces of choice, including Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
As part of the latest episode of New Heights<\/em><\/a>, the athlete\u2019s podcast that he started with his brother Jason Kelce of the Philadelphia Eagles, the duo posted an Instagram reel<\/a> discussing one of the more controversial condiments: mayonnaise. Surprisingly, it\u2019s a no-go for the Kansas City Chiefs star.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n When talking about the ingredients in a sandwich that was named after the podcast, Jason said, \u201cI\u2019m a big fan of the mayo, so I\u2019m happy you guys put it on there, but Trav does not eat mayo.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Travis proceeded to call the condiment \u201cdisgusting\u201d and classified it as \u201cegg whip.\u201d While Travis isn\u2019t entirely incorrect about his egg whip categorization, as the condiment is composed of eggs, oil, and vinegar, to say that the creamy sauce is \u201cdisgusting\u201d has many people ready to defend mayo to the ends of the crusts of their sandwiches.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n \u201cOur family puts mayo on corn on the cob!\u201d wrote one user. \u201cMayo is AMAZING!\u201d wrote another.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n Besides just being a condiment to slather on bread or dip french fries in, mayonnaise is commonly used as the base of other popular condiments like tartar sauce, fry sauce, and even ranch dressing. It\u2019s the epitome of versatility and without it, how would we have reached the culinary greatness we\u2019ve achieved today? Seriously, have you ever had a fish sandwich without tartar sauce?<\/p>\n \u201cYou can make it sound as disgusting as you want,\u201d said Jason in the podcast clip. \u201cMayonnaise is delicious, Travis.\u201d (And we would have to agree.)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
