Brooke Mueller<\/a>, 46, in 2008 and together they had 14-year-old twins Max and Bob.<\/p>\nBut the \u2018Platoon\u2019 actor and Brooke divorced in 2011 \u2014 the same year he was fired by \u201cTwo and a Half Men\u201d creator Chuck Lorre, in 2011. <\/p>\n
This week, Charlie insinuated that Mueller is now uninvolved in parenting their boys. <\/p>\n
He told People: \u201cI\u2019ve mostly been raising my 14-year-old boys.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cTheir mom has been trying to figure some stuff out on her end, so she\u2019s not in the picture too much right now.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nBut one of Brooke\u2019s friends has now told Page Six Brooke is far from \u201cout of the picture\u201d when it comes to parenting her and Charlie\u2019s kids.<\/p>\n
\nThe insider said the pair\u2019s youngsters split their time between Charlie and Brooke.<\/p>\n
\nThey added the boys are living with Charlie in Malibu because Brooke is waiting for her own new Malibu home to be ready after a move. <\/p>\n
\nA source close to the actress said: \u201cBrooke and Charlie have joint custody and are co-parenting their sons who are attending school in Malibu.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cBrooke has a good relationship with Denise (Richards) as well.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nCharlie recently insisted he and his ex Denise are on good terms nearly 18 years after their stormy divorce.<\/p>\n
\nThe \u2018Two and a Half Men\u2019 star split from the 52-year-old \u2018Wild Things\u2019 actress Denise in 2005 after she filed for divorce in the wake of Charlie\u2019s drink and drug addiction struggles.<\/p>\n
\nBut he told People they are friends and have an unbreakable bond due to the troubles they have survived together.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: \u201cWe\u2019re absolutely friendly. We went through so much together that I don\u2019t think either one of us has any energy left to be divisive.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nCharlie added he and Denise are prioritising their two daughters Sami, 19, and 18-year-old Lola, saying: \u201cThe only thing that matters is the kids. We knew we had to park our nonsense and focus on the children, because they had nothing to do with any of our crud.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nCharlie went on about how he and his ex-wife were able to finally get along: \u201cEven in the hottest portions of depths of the inferno, we were still able to maintain a perspective that yes, the children need to come first.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cNow we\u2019re super friendly, and we\u2019re actually able to process so much of it through humour these days.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nCharlie and Denise married in 2002 after dating for two years, but the marriage crumbled amid his addiction strife and the actress filed for divorce in 2005 during her pregnancy with Lola.<\/p>\n
\nShe went on to seek a restraining order against Charlie after claiming he made death threats against her, and the pair divorced a year later.<\/p>\n
\nDenise adopted her 12-year-old daughter Eloise in 2011 and married actor Aaron Phypers, 51, in 2019 \u2013 the same year he legally became the girl\u2019s guardian.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
