The formal accusation \u2013 levelled at the 44-year-old comedian on Wednesday (13.12.23) \u2013 comes after she was arrested in November for falling asleep at the wheel.<\/p>\n
Page Six reported the Los Angeles County District Attorney\u2019s Office said Tiffany was charged with one misdemeanour count of driving under the influence of alcohol and another misdemeanour count of driving with .08 percent blood alcohol content.<\/p>\n
Under California law, it is illegal to drive with a BAC of .08 percent or higher if you are over 21 years old.<\/p>\n
Tiffany is due back in court on 22 December for her arraignment and plea in the case, according to Page Six.<\/p>\n
\nThe \u2018Night School\u2019 star has yet to publicly address her charges, and instead has been promoting her new book \u2018I Curse You With Joy\u2019.<\/p>\n
\nTiffany \u2013 who was booked by cops in January 2022 in Georgia after cops received a call that a driver was dozing off on the road \u2013 was collared early on 24 November for falling asleep in a car in Beverly Hills, California, hours after performing at a comedy show over the Thanksgiving break.<\/p>\n
\nA watch commander for the Beverly Hills Police Department said: \u201cWe responded to a call of a vehicle on the roadway at 5.45 this morning.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nHe also noted officers were told the driver was \u201casleep behind the wheel\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nPage Six added sources said Tiffany\u2019s car was \u201cstopped in lanes of traffic\u201d and not pulled over to the side, meaning any vehicles that were driving in the area at that time would have had to go around her car.<\/p>\n
\nIt is unclear who placed the call to police and whether it was one of the other drivers on the road.<\/p>\n
\nThe watch commander stressed there were \u201cno traffic collisions\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nWhen Tiffany was lifted by police in 2022, police said the comic\u2019s vehicle was pulled into the yard of a local residence.<\/p>\n
\nTMZ added officers believed the stand-up comic had been under the influence of marijuana \u2013 and Tiffany later joked about the ordeal during an appearance on \u2018The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon\u2019.<\/p>\n
\nShe said a few weeks after the incident: \u201cI can say this, Jimmy \u2013 I\u2019ve been praying to God to send me a new man. A good man\u2026 and God went ahead and sent me four\u2026 in uniform.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
