Beyonc\u00e9<\/strong><\/a> is looking back on her groundbreaking self-titled album 10 years after its release.<\/p>\n

The singer, 42, took to Instagram<\/a> on Wednesday, December 13, to share a video honoring the 10th anniversary of her fifth studio album, Beyonc\u00e9<\/em>. The album was released in December 2013 with no prior promotion and included stunning visuals to accompany each song.<\/p>\n

This visual album was critically acclaimed and made Beyonc\u00e9 the first woman in history to have her first five albums debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Beyonc\u00e9<\/em> also became the fastest-selling album in iTunes history.<\/p>\n

Wednesday\u2019s Instagram montage features throwback clips of fans\u2019 reactions to the surprise album drop. \u201cI don\u2019t want anybody to give the message when my record is coming out,\u201d Beyonc\u00e9 says in a voiceover. \u201cI just want this to come out when it\u2019s ready and from me to my fans.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the bravado of releasing the LP with no warning, Beyonc\u00e9 admits to experiencing some nervousness leading up to the drop, saying, \u201cI still get scared before every album release.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continues, \u201cI\u2019m constantly searching for the deeper purpose for my art. Thoughts about life, my dreams or my fantasies. Just because you become a mother, it doesn\u2019t mean you lose who you are.\u201d<\/p>\n

The video ends with Beyonc\u00e9 saying, \u201cHappy 10th anniversary.\u201d<\/p>\n

Celebrities expressed their appreciation for Beyonc\u00e9<\/em> \u2014 which includes hits like \u201cDrunk in Love,\u201d \u201cPretty Hurts\u201d and \u201cPartition\u201d in the comments section of the post.\u2014 The singer\u2019s sister, Solange Knowles<\/strong>, acknowledged the album\u2019s unorthodox release, writing \u201cHISTORY!\u201d Tracee Ellis Ross<\/strong> commented \u201cIncredible!!!!\u201d along with a slew of fire emojis, while American Horror Story<\/em> actress Leslie Grossman<\/strong> wrote, \u201cThis album changed me on a molecular level.\u201d<\/p>\n

A main theme of Beyonc\u00e9<\/em> is the singer\u2019s journey with her own identity, particularly after she welcomed daughter Blue Ivy in January 2012. Blue, who was almost 2 at the time of the album\u2019s release, appeared in the music video for \u201cBlue\u201d \u2014 a song dedicated to her \u2014 alongside her mom.<\/p>\n
