Shiny Happy People<\/em> was an eye-opening documentary into the insidious cult that warped the Duggars.<\/p>\nJinger didn\u2019t choose to participate. But that doesn\u2019t mean that she disagrees with every topic that the doc covered.<\/p>\n

Shiny Happy People<\/em> aired on Amazon Prime, and informed many viewers about the sinister world of the Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP).<\/p>\nJinger did not participate \u2014 but, this week, she confirmed that \u201ceverything in that documentary\u201d was \u201ctruthful.\u201d<\/p>\nWe\u2019re up close and personal here with Jinger Duggar during a podcast appearance. Gothard founded IBLP. About a decade ago, he lost his leadership position in disgrace after a number of women came forward to expose his sexual misconduct.<\/p>\n
Jinger emphasized that Gothard\u2019s twisted teachings \u201cwere so deceptive because they were mixed in\u201d with more innocuous ideology.<\/p>\nJinger Duggar is attracting a lot of attention these days. \u201cAnd it would just take a twist,\u201d she described, \u201cwhere it was very damaging.\u201d<\/p>\n
This is how most cults and predatory ideologies function. Whether someone wants you to join a pyramid scheme, worship someone as a prophet, join a creepy man\u2019s rural harem, or take part in a sinister political movement \u2014 they\u2019ll use as much truth, or at least palatable ideology, as they can.<\/p>\nWhile driving, Jinger Duggar looks directly into the camera to address her fans and followers. Her husband, Jeremy, chimed in to praise that \u201cone of the things the docuseries did really well\u201d was that it worked to \u201cexpose Gothard.\u201d True!<\/p>\n
It didn\u2019t solely focus upon Gothard, The docuseries, Jeremy added, exposed \u201cthe program and the cult and the way he operated.\u201d This went beyond just one evil man.<\/p>\nJinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo pose for a photo in October of 2023. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar raised their children within this twisted fundamentalist ideology.<\/p>\n
Among so many other things, Gothard\u2019s principles and IBLP teachings fostered the perfect hunting ground for predators. Bill Gothard and Josh Duggar are merely infamous; they are not the only evil men from this community.<\/p>\n\n\n
