Alexa PenaVega<\/strong><\/a> is sharing some very candid comments about her sex life with Carlos PenaVega<\/strong><\/a> and why she has compared having sex with him to \u201cgoing to the gym.\u201d<\/p>\n The 34-year-old actress is best known for starring in the Spy Kids<\/em> movies and now is a Hallmark Channel fan favorite. <\/p>\n Alexa<\/strong> and Carlos<\/strong> have been married since 2014 and are parents to three kids \u2013 Ocean<\/strong>, 6, Kingston<\/strong>, 3 and Rio<\/strong>, 21 months. On the latest episode of her Heaven In Your Home podcast, she opened up about life in the bedroom with her husband.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI would enjoy it but it wasn\u2019t this thing I craved all the time. And he\u2019s a man so he\u2019s like \u2018I want you to want me,\u2019\u201d Alexa<\/strong> said of her sex life. \u201cI started trying to own the sex part of our marriage a bit more and really work on that.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt wasn\u2019t necessarily because I was gung ho and ready for it,\u201d she said. \u201cIt was one of those things where, this is going to sound terrible, but you know how you don\u2019t necessarily want to go to the gym at the beginning, but then once you start going you\u2019re like \u2018I have to go every day, this is great. I feel good, my body feels good.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Carlos <\/strong>made a comment to Alexa<\/strong> that made her reevaluate her relationship with sex.<\/p>\n \u201cI didn\u2019t think we had any issues in our marriage but he said, \u2018I just keep praying to God that he\u2019ll take away my hunger for sex.\u2019 I just remember going back to the bathroom and sobbing for him \u2019cause I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh my gosh, my poor husband, he\u2019s literally asking God to take that urge away from him. Why am I not there on his level?\u2019\u201d Alexa<\/strong> said. \u201cIt hurt my heart \u2019cause as wives we really want to serve our husbands. We wanna be there for them, we wanna show up, but I just do feel like society and the enemy knows, \u2018This is an area I could totally get in.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Alexa<\/strong> believes that her Christian upbringing caused her \u201cweird feelings and ideas towards sex.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIf you\u2019ve grown up in the church, you wait until marriage, you don\u2019t really talk about sex, sex is this off-limits thing, and then all of a sudden you get married and you\u2019re just supposed to be gung ho about it,\u201d she said. \u201cWe have these weird feelings and ideas towards sex. It\u2019s almost like we think sex is bad, and then all of a sudden we\u2019re supposed to think sex is good, but then all a sudden sex feels dirty. You have all these weird feelings, right?
