Sia<\/strong><\/a> is getting candid about her decision to undergo liposuction.<\/p>\n \u201cHad to take a medication that made me put on a lot of weight that I just can\u2019t shift with exercise or thyroid meds so I went in for lipo today,\u201d Sia, 47, explained via X (formerly Twitter)<\/a> on Saturday, December 9.<\/p>\n She continued: \u201cPlease know that I am so lucky to have the resources to change the way I look and that when you see me looking crazy foxy again that I want you to know it did not come from diet and exercise.\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cCheap Thrills\u201d singer, who has famously hidden her face behind a signature wig for most of her career, added that she wanted to be \u201ctruthful\u201d about all of her procedures so she doesn\u2019t \u201ccontribute to the system that tells us we aren\u2019t enough.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI am insecure like most people and being in the public eye gives me anxiety, so I\u2019ve made the choice to alter my appearance for my own confidence issues,\u201d Sia concluded. \u201cPray for me please! I love you, keep going!\u201d<\/p>\n This is not the first time that Sia has revealed she got liposuction \u2014 or opened up about plastic surgery. In 2021, the singer admitted in an interview with physician and author Gabor Mat\u00e9<\/b>\u00a0that she got liposuction on her stomach but it \u201cwent wrong,\u201d noting it looked \u201clike something threw a hammer into my guts.\u201d<\/p>\n Elsewhere in the 2021 interview, Sia also confessed she got botox in her face and wondered whether her smile would ever look \u201creal\u201d again. \u201cIt\u2019s so brutal, and I did that to myself because I was insecure,\u201d Sia said at the time.<\/p>\n In October, Sia, who recently admitted she was \u201cseverely depressed\u201d<\/a> for three years after her divorce from ex husband Erik Anders Lang<\/strong>, also discussed getting a facelift<\/a> when she presented the Outstanding Achievement in Medicine award to Dr. Ben Talei<\/strong>.<\/p>\n You have successfully subscribed.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
