It proves that Google\u2019s app store practices are illegal and they abuse their monopoly to extract exorbitant fees, stifle competition and reduce innovation.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">Mind you, we don\u2019t know <em>what<\/em> Epic has<em> <\/em>actually won quite yet \u2014 that\u2019s up to Judge James Donato, who\u2019ll decide what the appropriate remedies might be. Epic never sued for monetary damages; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/11\/28\/23980294\/epic-v-google-day-12-is-done-but-not-before-some-revelations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">it wants<\/a> the court to tell Google that every app developer has total freedom to introduce its own app stores and its own billing systems on Android, and we don\u2019t yet know how or even whether the judge might grant those wishes. Both parties will meet with Judge Donato in the second week of January to discuss potential remedies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">Judge Donato <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2023\/11\/28\/23980294\/epic-v-google-day-12-is-done-but-not-before-some-revelations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">has already stated<\/a> that he will <em>not<\/em> grant Epic\u2019s additional request for an anti-circumvention provision \u201cjust to be sure Google can\u2019t reintroduce the same problems through some alternative creative solution,\u201d as Epic lead attorney Gary Bornstein put it on November 28th. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">\u201cWe don\u2019t do don\u2019t-break-the-law injunctions&#8230; if you have a problem, you can come back,\u201d Donato said.
